Vitamin C Serum for Face 20% with Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin E, 1 fl. oz.

I'm a person with "mature" skin. I'd been reading a lot about the topical benefits of vitamin C, but never knew which one to get. I came upon Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum after much research and I am so very happy with this product. I have only been using it a short while, but so far I am extremely pleased. Plus, hyaluronic acid for hydration is a great addition to this serum. I've also been using the Amara face moisturizer after applying the Vitamin C. This vitamin C is cruelty free, which is a must with any product I buy. It is also a very good strength, percentage wise. Going by the reviews I read before ordering, I was so happy that there is no strong or unpleasant scent involved. A few drops is all it takes to cover my entire face and neck and it dries quickly. I didn't know what to expect, but was quite excited to see that, in conjunction with my other anti-aging products (most likely the retinol I use), it helps the top layer of my skin peel (this doesn't happen immediately - it can take a few days). I could actually use tweezers to gently lift off areas of that top layer of skin that I so badly want to exfoliate! Please note that this doesn't hurt at all. It's not like taking off a scab. It just helps remove that top layer, revealing the new, fresh skin below. I can only speak to my experience, of course, but I highly recommend this vitamin C!! If your skin is not new to exfoliating products, the 20% is perfect. If you are just starting out, I'd say to start with a lower percentage. Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum for Face is a wonderful product! It also contains vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. (Vitamins C and E need each other - and they are GREAT for your skin!) I have tried to purchase this combination of vitamins in other products in the past; however, the vitamins were always oxidized and I had little faith in their effectiveness under those circumstances. Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum arrived fresh, potent, and definitely not oxidized. I tend to be allergic to everything - but I have no problem using this product. I can see it is making a difference already! My face feels a little bit "tight" after I put it on... not unpleasant, but just there. Just to be sure it was working, I put some on the back of one hand tonight. Within a half hour I could see a dramatic difference even sitting in a darkened room. When I looked at it under a bright light, the skin on the hand with Vitamin C Serum appeared tighter, healthier, and had a lovely radiance to it. I had planned to put my usual hand cream on and see what it did overnight, but I am already excited with these quick results. I am going to give this product a serious try and see if I can turn the clock back a little. I feel the price is fair given the quality of the product - I am so glad it is organic. Sadly, I am on a very strict budget, so I may not always be able to get this product (boo hoo). But I have some for now! I needed some customer service for a minor issue and the customer service is the very BEST. The product arrived within one or two days - although I bought it during the busy holiday season. Thank you for making this excellent organic product! I'm going to see what else you have now! I highly recommend this product.

Update: 04/30/15 Changed from 5 stars to 4. Purchased and used up my second bottle and I can't say that I've continued to see you the same results. My skin didn't seem as "bright" as before when I was on the first bottle and I'm no longer noticing any fading of old acne scars, but maybe I'm expecting too much. Anyways, I decided to try a different brand (insta natural) with more vitamins and natural oils for more "anti-aging" benefits. I don't have wrinkles, just wanted to prevent . Big mistake! My skin felt awful with the other product and I began breaking out. With the insta natural brand my makeup caked up and smeared and I looked like a greaseball, even without makeup I looked greasy. My previous review I stated that I thought this brand (Amara Organics) made me break out at first but that it had gotten better. I couldn't give the other brand the chance that I had given this brand because my face felt too oily and itchy. I'm coming back to this product (Amara) since it worked well with my skin type, but I'll probably continue to look for something that might be better. Old review: My skin needed some serious help. I have oily, acne-prone skin and large pores. The hormones from having kids made me look like I had the skin of a teenager again...and the scars it left behind!! I was so embarrassed. I didn't want to spend hundreds on more peels and laser treatments at the spa and I remember a friend raving about vitamin C for skin care. After looking on Amazon for a while, this seemed to be the best rated so I figured I'd give it a try. Honestly, at first I was disappointed. I thought it was making me break out again so I quit using it after only a few uses. I'm not sure what really caused the breakouts but I decided to give this another chance after I had the breakouts under control. I'm so happy I did. I can't say that I saw any immediate results, but after a couple weeks I noticed that my skin looked brighter and my pores appear much smaller. I also notice that my skin feels less oily throughout the day (I used to have to blot my face every few hours and now it's very rare that I have to) and I'm not breaking out at all. I'm noticing that some acne scars are becoming lighter too. I use this under my makeup during the day and at night I use a retinol cream (but I've been using the retinol for a while and have only noticed results after adding this serum). The company sends an email with instructions and does advise that this serum is thinner and a little goes a long way. It also recommends to use it during the day, especially if you use a retinol at night. This is probably one of my best skin care purchases in a long time. I just ordered a second bottle and I'm sure I'll continue to order it as long as they make it.

Sometimes it's hard to know if a serum is really doing anything. they all tout how important they are and how they are so beneficial for your skin; but frankly, I've tried many different brands and I never notice anything specific in regards to softer lines, better pores, reduction of age spots or improvements to the skin. but I do know from dermatologists and estheticians that certain ingredients are good for the skin like Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid, and Vitamin E, and this product incorporates all those ingredients for a more reasonable price than many on the market. So most of the time if I like a serum it's for the fragrance or feel of it. that's why I gave a 3 star rating...because the consistency is watery and doesn't have much of a fragrance which is not a negative but just a fact. I'm not crazy about how it feels right when I put it on (slightly sticky) but it seeps into the skin in seconds and once I put my moisturizer on, it doesn't matter. Since it has all the right ingredients, I'm sure it's helping my skin...I'm just not seeing any marked improvements that I can tell. I've been using it on and off for several months now and no signs of any reduction of the aging brown spots or that 'youthful glow' they claim will happen. They claim it stimulates collagen...I can only hope which is why I will continue to use it. I did use the Obagi Vitamin C oil and liked the feel (a little greasy or oily) and fragrance...but it was just Vitamin C and cost a good deal more too. So I'm hoping that with the added benefits of Hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, I'm getting more bang for the buck.

I want to preface this by saying I'm relatively new to skincare. I'm quickly approaching my 30s, and while I've been privileged with great genetics, it's recently dawned on me that genes will only take me so far (basically, she saw a wrinkle in the mirror and panicked). So, after weeks of research, and months of experimenting, a lot of money wasted on products that weren't meant for my skin, I found a skincare regimen that works for me. This product in particular, I had a journey with, that I wanted to share with you all. I purchased my first bottle of this at the end of October, and here I am ready to buy another bottle (spoilers, it works, folks). However, I went through hell to figure out how to get the best benefit from this product! I'm talking irritation, acne, and my new favourite fancy term; post inflammatory hyper pigmentation. I know. Sounds bad. But hear me out, all that crap was MY OWN FAULT, and I am here to tell you what I did wrong so you can get it right. Long story short, I didn't wear sunscreen. And then I wore a sunscreen that just didn't work with this product... Then finally, I found the holy grail combination that solved all my first world problems. See at first, I was only applying this serum at night, and had no problems whatsoever. In fact, my skin was glowing. Then, somewhere along the way, I read that a Vitamin C applied during the day can help improve your skin even more by protecting it from the pollutants you walk through on a day to day basis. Big mistake. After two days of using this serum during daylight hours my skin was BURNING. I had spots there were red, crusty, gross, et cetera. So here I am going "What the hell am I doing wrong? It can't be this product because it worked before." I quickly learned it was because Vitamin C on its own is very unstable. So when exposed to UV light, it reacts violently on the surface of your skin. Like literally burns it! I was under the impression that my skin didn't like SPF from past experiences (I've been hurt before too). So my solution was buying a cheap SPF enhanced moisturizer that had a low SPF (15, for all of you curious on what to avoid). Yeah big mistake. Made my problems a thousand times worse. My skin never looked worse. Not wanting to give up, I decided to take a leap of faith, and got a moisturizer with SPF 40. What lead me to go from 15 to 40 you ask? Well why do we sometimes go from getting a salad at McDonald's on Monday, to getting a whole McDouble on Friday. Sometimes we just know we need more. Best decision I made. I would apply the Vitamin C serum in the morning, then followup with the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer with SPF 40, and within a week I had the best skin I've EVER had. Hope this helps someone who really wants to make this baby work. You have to HAVE to use SPF if you're going to wear this serum during the day. Otherwise, stick to strictly using this during your PM regimen.

I wanted to use it for at least 30 days before writing a review. I can't do a fair review, unless I explain how I use it to get amazing results. I use 4 of their products at the same time. -Total Repair Eye Gel -Vitamin C Serum -Retinal Serum -Advanced Age-Defying Moisturizer So, I will explain how I use them and my results. To get the best out of these products I suggest doing microdermabrasion first. It will remove all the dead skin and allow the products to penetrate deeper. On a daily bases, I use the Total Repair Eye Gel every morning and every night. I use the Vitamin C Serum every morning, along with the Advanced Age-Defying Moisturizer, then I apply Aveeno Positively Radiant SPF 30. I used the Retinal Serum and Advanced Age-Defying Moisturizer at night. Make sure to exfoliate your skin every other day to get rid of the dead skin that will be servicing. I also started doing micro needling twice a month at home, using a .75 roller (best for acne scars and wrinkles). It helps the products penetrate deeper. You can get it on Amazon. Do your research on it first. You can message me, if you want more information on how I use it. After a month, my skin is glowing! Under my eyes the skin is firm and I have zero lines. I didn't really have any darkening, so I'm using it more as a preventive measure. Now, my makeup goes on silky smooth. I have actually stopped wearing as much makeup, because my skin is so radiant. I'm just using a tinted moisturizer for daily wear. I also have had these deep lines on my neck since I was a teenager and the lines are getting less noticeable. Hopefully, they disappear over time. Note: The first couple of weeks my skin was flaking a little. So, for a couple of days I just used the Aveeno moisturizer only. That helped stop the flaking. Then, I went back to the products. There was no more flaking after that.
