A: It's really just made to hold photo paper.

**Q: what are the dimensions including the black molding around the glass ?**
A: 9 1/4 wide
17 1/4 high

**Q: Is it wall mounted only or is there a way to stand it on a counter?**
A: This item is only for a wall mount. There is no easel

**Q: What is the thickness of the black frame?**
A: I did not measure the thickness but it is nice and thick.  I will guess it is 1/2 inch.  I found these to be very sturdy.  I bought 2 and I used them as gifts and both recipients were very pleased.
