2 questions - (1) will this fit a regular US garden hose? (2) what size drill will i need to buy to install it on a rain barrel?

The threaded part that sticks out of the barrel will fit a garden hose. This item is also threaded on the inside if you want to use a regular pipe. I used a one inch spade bit, but had to enlarge the hole a little using a dremmel. If you can find a 1 1/16 inch hole saw it would be perfect. Or 27 mm if you are metric.

I need to use this on a 7/8 inch thick bulkhead for our rv. will this work? will it have enough thread to attach a hose?

Sorry. No. It will only fit 6 mm wall if you are using the male GH Threads. It will fit 20 mm Thickness Wall if you are not using the male GH threads.

Are the internal threads actual tapered npt? or are they straight threads like most of the other chinese junk available on amazon?
