ABSOLUTELY GOLD vs 3rd party pads
Had my headphones since 2017 and have had to replace the ear pads twice. My first idea in 2020 was to go online (and I didn't see the official pads at the time) and buy some new ones. I ended up getting 3rd party ones that just flaked apart after a few months and dealt with them for about 3 years. They were disgusting. After finding the REAL replacements, holy hell -- it's night and day. The 3rd party ones were foamy and allowed sound leak. The real ones have restored the sound stage in its entirety. Details I got used to missing have come back. I've now had these replacements for at least a year, and nothing is flaking off, nothing is loose and nothing is bad! They are so easy to clean with some alcohol wipes when done using. Most importantly, they are FROM THE FACTORY. Very high quality material and very comfortable. AT knows what they're doing with headphones.

Yes, it's true--these are your best option and good for more than just AT!
Other reviewers here have already mentioned that these are your best option for AT's popular and very good headphones. While look and feel are preserved, of primary importance is that the sound signature is preserved. Many of us have experienced a change in sound quality--not for the best--when installing other replacement pads. With several brands and models of headphones, I found that some are more susceptible to audio quality change with non-OEM replacement pads. One such model is Sony's MDR-V6. My ATH-M30x weren't nearly as sensitive by comparison. However, to me the M30x sound different from the ATH-M50x (and the MDR-V6), especially in the lower octaves. Possibly the M50x are more sensitive to certain pad variables, just like the MDR-V6. While you may also want to experiment, using OEM replacements is usually the safest bet. I did find, however, that these pads also fit my Sony MDR-V6 and perform very well. These are a little more tricky to install than others. None-the-less, I'd buy these again.

Exact replacement from Audio Technica! Acousticly transparent...excellent sound quality.
I've had my Audio Technica 50X Headphones for 7 years...& the ear pads finally started to start falling apart. Not bad at all! Anyway, these replacement ear pads are excellent! Plus they're original equipment from Audio Technica. It was VERY important, that they would not negatively affect the sound in any way. After reading reviews on some generic brands, where people said they affected the great sound of these headphones, I went with Audio Technica. I'm glad I did, as they sound perfect...in fact, they seem to sound a little better now with the new cups, maybe because they have a better seal now...yet still comfortable. They were a little hard getting on; around 30 minutes for me, as I wanted it done right. But, overall...these are a great choice for replacement ear pads. Can't beat the quality of Audio Technica! Very happy!!

Solid replacement parts
Leather on my earpads started to deteriorate and this was a convenient, inexpensive solution. I watched a quick youtube video on how to replace the earpads out of fear I might damage the headphones entirely had I done otherwise, and the process was fairly simple. These feel much better to wear than the previous worn out ones and work just as well.

Great replacement ear pads!
The ear pads on my headphones wore out after 10 years, but I was surprised to find these replacements on Amazon. They fit perfectly and it's like having a new set of headphones!!

Instructions *grossly* simplified, far more difficult to install on an MT-50x
I've had my Audio Technica Mt-50x headphones for 6 years. I love them. The headphone pads decided to disintegrate so I bought these replacement pads as they were Audio Tecnica's own item. What they don't tell you is these are supported on the wide range of headphones, but they are not identical replacements to what was originally equipped. These are a good half-inch (if not full inch) smaller and not nearly as thick. That being said, the real reason I'm writing is the horrific instructions - it simply has 3 easy steps: 1) remove the existing pads. OK, except when I pulled as instructed, the rubberish material tore instead of coming out because they were glued in, obviously not designed for replacement. 2) if using an MT-40x headphone extract foam pad from old ones (I'm not, so ignoring) 3) Install new headphone pad into the gap where the prior headphone was installed while doing a circular twisting motion. Good luck. The gap you're supposed to wedge this thing into is half a millimeter wide and a millimeter deep. The pad liner (which you're supposed to get into the gap) is over 2 centimeters in available length. I had to disassemble the headphone (partially) removing the retaining clip that holds the pads on, entirely friction fitted. However there is less than a millimeter clearance for the clip to mount, and if you wrap the pad to far, the clip won't attach. I was able to get it all working by barely wrapping the new pad over the edge of the clip (so it would be in the gap), and so that the bottom of the clip mounted to the headphones. This took me an hour to do, which should have taken 5 minutes.

Perfect Replacement
I love my head phones, and I have had them for years. As things inevitably do the ear pads wore out, and I purchased this replacement set. The pads popped on and off easily and my headset looks and feels brand new again. I’m so happy with the quality of these ear pads and the headphones as a whole.

SAVE YOUR MONEY.
I know is a bit long but please CONTINUE READING. (These are just my personal opinion, so THINK TWICE AND WISELY BEFORE PURCHASING). First, I have been using Ath-M50x for around 3-4 years. I am really satisfied with the sound quality. No matter is for movies/gaming/sound editing/etc. However, my ear-pads and headband skins slowly tear off and dying. Every week, I need to clean off those falling pieces around my workstation which is kind of irritating. There’s where I started to consider on purchasing the latest model (M50x-bt Wireless). Unfortunately, M50x-bt Wireless, 200$ is a bit pricey to change just because of the skins tear off. Therefore, I came here and purchased the replacement earpads just for 24.99$. Pros: Sound Quality. Is just as good as the original version. Rating: 95/100 (That -5 may be my misconception). You can’t feel any regress and even feel better with it (Condition: if all your skins were peel off and you had been using for a long time). You will get a better noise cancelling with the skins on. That’s why you can see some of the comments mentions "it is better". You may be questioning “Skins provide noise cancelling you must be kidding me”? No. I am not. It actually provides it just like the old days. Just you slowly missed it and you never know about it. Sizes. It totally fit well on my Mth-50x. I don't get it why someone say it is smaller? From my own observation and wearing experiences, it's totally the same and fits well just like the old times. Softness. First, is soft and slightly tight to your ears, just like every new brand headphone. I think you need to wear it for couple days and the punch will get softer and slowly recognize your ear size. Delivery. This really impress me. I never receive any products from Amazons Overseas within 3 days by using economy delivery. I want to give 5 stars for everyone who participated it. Cons: It’s new and the skins give you the old feeling and better noise cancelling. Your ear may still slowly adapting it and muggy. Besides that, everything is perfect and WORTH IT.
