WEISHI F Safety Razor Butterfly Double Sound Razor

Excellent product. Even better than I expected. A mild razor which was just what I required. Well worth the money

Great clean and important close shave

Used to using Gillette Mack 3. Started shaving the traditional way to help the environment (no plastic and only metal blades to recycle). I get a better shave and it’s cheaper. This is a good razor to start off with, just in case you can’t get used to shaving this way.

A decent lightweight safety razor, ideal for your travel bag. It gives a very mild, not remotely aggressive shave. It'll be interesting to see how long the butterfly mechanism lasts .. it's still early days, and the first one I've had.

I bought this to use at the gym as I didn't want to risk losing my vintage 1960 Gillette Superspeed. The Weishi is physically identical to the Superspeed but doesn't hold a blade as firmly, and a tiny bit more blade is exposed to the skin when shaving.. That leads to slight movement of the blade and a much harsher shave with more nick's and a sore face after shaving. Switching from one to the other mid-shave really demonstrates how much better a 60 year old Gillette is than a cheap modern copy.

The dull part of the blade sticks out a bit at each end of the head. Even though this is not the edge of the blade, it is still quite sharp and I would prefer this were covered. So, docked a point for that. Worse, after about a year of only occasional use, with less than half a dozen blade changes, the butterfly mechanism broke, rendering the razor useless as the blade could no longer be changed. (It sounded as though the shaft inside the handle, that drives the mechanism, snapped.) Other than that, it was OK.

Ho comperato questo rasoio perché era tra i più economici ed essendo il mio primo approccio verso un tipo di rasatura dei tempi andati, non ho voluto rischiare di buttare via troppi soldi nel caso in cui non lo avessi poi utilizzato, per me funziona bene, unico neo è che avendo la mano grande questo rasoio rimane un po' piccolo, ma forse anche quelli più cari sono così, non lo so, comunque è fatto bene e sono felice dell'acquisto.

Questo razoio con apertura a farfalla, cerca di essere un clone del celebre Gilette Superspeed. E' un rasoio molto mite, con un' esposizione lama pari a quella del Gilette Tech. E' quindi, un gradino meno aggressivo, anche rispetto al ben noto e mite Edwin Jagger DE89, per cui direi che è ottimo per neofiti. A causa della sua bassa aggressività, funziona meglio con lamette più aggressive e per chi si rade ogni giorno o al massimo ogni 2 giorni. Avendo l' esposizione lama molto ridotta, è un rasoio che da un lato è molto "protettivo", ma dall' altra parte, ha un' angolo di taglio piuttosto ristretto, per cui, uno ci deve fare l' abitudine, se lo vuole rendere efficace al massimo. E come tutti i rasoi di sicurezza, serve avere una tecnica diversa rispetto ai rasoi multilama. Per cui, è inutile accusare il rasoio di inefficienza, è questione di tecnica. Il rasoio rade e rade altrettanto bene quanto i Gilette vintage miti che cerca di emulare. Consiglierei però lamette affilate, tipo Astra SP per avere i migliori risultati. La costruzione, da quello che si trova su internet, è di una non meglio precisata "lega di rame" (che poi sarà bronzo? non si sa), con qualche pezzo come le "porte" della testa in alluminio, il tutto cromato. La cromatura è ottima, anche se il mio ha una piccola imperfezione sull' asta verticale dove si inserisce la lametta. Niente di importante comunque. Sulla durata della cromatura, non posso pronunciarmi, però, sicuramente è un rasoio più resistente alle cadute rispetto al 95% degli altri rasoio moderni con la testa fatta in "zamak" (lega di zinco), la quale si frantumma facilmente dopo una caduta. Il Weishi, essendo di lega di rame, è molto più resistente (a me è già caduto 2 volte, senza danni). Per me, si tratta del miglior clone dei vecchi Gilette attualmente in circolazione ad un prezzo molto buono. Il peso netto del rasoio è di 63g (in confronto il Gilette Superspeed pesava sui 58g), quindi di tutto rispetto. Io, da amante dei rasoi miti, possiedo 2 Weishi FL (versione manico lungo) e 1 F (manico corto), così come anche 3 EJ DE89, in rotazione con il Weishi. Quindi, penso che questo la dice lunga sul cosa penso di questo rasoio.

Vorab: ich besitze seit über 10 Jahren zwei Hobel, einen Merkur Progress und einen Wilkinson classic (ein Plastikteil) Weil mir die Butterfly Funktion beim Weishi gefallen hat habe ich diesen bestellt. Bestückt mit einer neuen Feather habe ich mich mit dem Weishi ans Werk gemacht einen Dreitage Bart zu entfernen, was mit meinen beiden alten Hobeln ein Kinderspiel ist. Mit dem Weishi hat das echt keinen Spaß gemacht, ich habe einfach keinen Haltewinkel gefunden, in dem ein ordentlicher Schnitt möglich gewesen wäre, es hat immer nur geziept und es war mehrfaches drüberziehen notwendig, um den Bart zu entfernen. Sich damit zu schneiden halte ich für geradezu unmöglich, aber mit Nassrasieren hat das nichts zu tun. Weil ich zu faul war das Ding zurück zu schicken, habe ich ihn gleich entsorgt. Zwei Sterne, denn die Verarbeitung schien mir ordentlich.
