I bought this "cheap" baby monitor for my third child when our much more expensive video monitor broke down (none seem to last very long). I figured he was already two, I really only needed it to hear him overnight (he rarely gets up) and see if he's trying to climb out of his crib. I've had 3 other quite expensive video monitors for my children (now ages 9, 5, and 2) and I cannot believe I wasted money on any of them now that I have this one!! This is an excellent monitor: the camera movement is generous, the picture is clear whether it's daytime/night-vision, the zoom works well, and the battery life is exceptional- far surpassing my others' battery life! I haven't tested the range much, though it works from my basement office, all the way up to his bedroom. It also has room temperature and microphone features. I suppose the only con is that when I talk into the microphone to my kids, my older ones have to put the device up to their ear to hear me, though on my end I can hear them loud & clear with plenty of volume adjustability. We don't need this feature much, so perhaps that's adjustable too, but I haven't tried. I highly recommend this- don't waste your money on the more expensive ones, they aren't worth it.

I did a lot of searching for a reasonably priced monitor. I was skeptical of this one because it was only $40.00. However, I am so pleased. The picture is big and clear (with good night vision), the battery life on the monitor is great, and the reception is awesome for a 2 story home with basement and backyard pool. Would definitely buy again.

Great baby monitor! Especially for the price! Been using this for 2 years now and still love it! The night vision in it is great, I can see everything in both of my kids rooms very clearly. Camera has a great swivel range so you can see pretty much all of the room it’s in. Wanted something with no WiFi connection and easy to use and it’s been perfect.

This unit works well. It connects super easy..no instructions needed, which is great because not many are provided. The video feed is smooth and clear. The video sound is as good as one needs it to be but I don’t use the lullaby music as I think it sounds a bit tinny. I really don’t need date/time but it was an easy set up. I love the temperature sensor as the thermostat for that floor is in the master bedroom and the temps in baby’s room get much cooler with the door closed so I can check the monitor to assure it is warm enough without having to go in and chance the baby waking up just to check a temperature gauge. The quirks - After a year of using (only at grandma’s house, so not real often) I have noticed it beep once for no apparent reason 🤷‍♀️ Another time, late at night, the screen came on for no reason. Wouldn’t you know, it was late at night and I was up alone when it happened. Batteries were good so that wasn’t the problem. Not sure why it did this. Tried to troubleshoot but there is no product support on their web HELLO BABY page. At all! Just a contact. I found it really odd that one can’t even find a user guide for it. I throw all my manuals away when I get something set up because I know I can get them online but I should have kept this one. How does a person do any troubleshooting if you don’t have one? For that reason, I gave this product only 4 stars.

Update update: We ended up having issues with our monitor no longer cutting on. One brief (and quickly answered) email later, and we had a replacement otw to us in less than a business week! We ended up buying a Vtech replacement for the meantime that was $20 more expensive with a monitor half this size and a stationary camera. I didn't realize how spoiled I was after my Happy Baby setup. For this price range, I don't think you could choose a better setup. Update: So, going the cheap route has popped up with some issues! While I am still mostly happy with this purchase, the monitor sometimes goes through fits of losing signal. I stay in the room beside the baby and the signal is still strong, but the screen reconnects on and off quite often. Turning the monitor off for a bit seems to help briefly. There is also an issue where the monitor freezes or has a "rolling screen" issue, which I don't really know how to explain. The image freezes briefly in a purple, black or green color, and then rolls (like movie credits) upwards and then the stream continues as normal. Sometimes this happens multiple times in a row. Additionally, the monitor makes a sound, sort of like a Maraca now, when you pick it up and move it. Lastly, the monitor battery starts to suck after a few weeks. It has to be charged almost every other day now, or just left on the charger. Original: Take this with a grain of salt, as I've never used a more expensive monitor, or any other monitor at all for that matter. But why would I need to? This thing is perfect. The image is clear and you can rotate the camera quite extensively. The screen on the monitor is huge and the fact that this doesn't need any wifi or Bluetooth is great. You just plug it up and then it connects. The battery life is good, the temperature monitoring seems accurate and the connection range suits my needs. Extremely happy with the peace of mind it brings.

(Original 5 star review below) if you read my original review, you know that I LOVED this video monitor the return window was up for days ago, so I was really bummed for this to happen, but here it is. We had a busy day with doctors appointments, and Caregiver met us here when we got home. I ran errands and went to rest in my room, and then went in to stretch out with him in his room. I came out to tell the caregiver. Good night before she left, and I looked at the monitor to see that my husband’s bed was empty! Before I completely freaked out, I noticed that the time on it read 3:26 PM. It was 10 PM. I tried to power the monitor off by holding the power button down for several seconds, but it remained frozen on the same screen. I pressed every combination of buttons possible but nothing happened. It’s a rechargeable unit, so there are no batteries I can remove, so I have unplugged it and I am hoping after it dies I can plug it back in and get a different result. Meanwhile, I have to sleep without the assurance this thing has brought me for the last month. I will probably go into his room multiple times to make sure his oxygen has not come out, and he has not tried to get up without assistance. I can’t tell you how disappointing this is. There’s an old saying “He who buys cheap, buys twice,” and this experience may prove it to be true once again. If you’re looking for a disposable unit to last you 30 days, don’t hesitate to buy. If you want some thing you can actually depend on, I suggest you look elsewhere. My husband has health issues, and after the caregiver and I found him in his bathroom floor one morning, I decided we needed a way to keep an eye on him even when we aren’t in the room. This has been a lifesaver! It has audio and clear video, and you can unplug the monitor and take it anywhere in the house and maintain visual contact. So far no Wi-Fi problems, and I like that you can also push a button on the monitor and use it like an intercom to ask if he needs help or anything. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, so I can’t speak to its longevity, but so far, I’m impressed.

I just switched from a WiFi monitor to this one and I am so happy I did. This monitor is as simple as can be to use and there are no connectivity issues. The sound and video quality are perfect. I love that this particular model came with wall plugs as well. I don’t need them to be cordless so no worry about the battery running low. I needed a simple monitor for my grandson so when my daughter-in-law suggested this one I was thrilled. It’s simple to use and a great price too.

Easy to use. Connectivity has some issues and we get feedback errors, the monitor cuts out a lot. Love to zoom function and night vision though. Had to reset the monitor recently because the screen went black and it wouldn’t turn on at all.

Me surpreendi com a qualidade, monitor grande e com a imagem bem limpa, o giro da câmera não emite som e é muito tranquilo de mexer, o modo econômico dele tem 3 categorias de volume de som (uso muito essa função), sinto falta de um mostrador de horas mas isso é um mero detalhe. Únicos pontos "negativos" é que tanto para ativar e desativar o modo econômico como para aumentar e diminuir o som tem que acessar o menu e fazer a configuração, não tem uma tecla de atalho como em outras babás eletrônicas.

Have used camping (with 12v cable for receiver, and mini inverter for camera), awesome settings to be able to pan left/right and up/down.

Aunque no tengo bebé la uso para monitorear un pequeño negocio para saber cuando llega un cliente y funciona perfectamente. La calidad de imagen está ok, la señal es muy buena para mis necesidades y la visión nocturna es mejor de lo que esperaba. La batería hasta el momento tiene gran duración y los cables de carga son suficientemente largos. Sin dudas recomendaría este producto para personas con bebés.
