Are these still water resistant when used with an inkjet printer?

That is all we have. We used it 3 times successfully advertising our church's VBS at the local farmer's market in my small town. The bottles sat in ice water for hours and looked great at the end of each Thursday afternoon. No complaints here. I don't know how it faired for others, but we did have a bit of trouble with the on-line template and our different printers. Some worked, some didn't. So don't get frustrated. Follow the directions carefully and remember that, as you see on the screen there is a  lot of over print on the label. Oh, and the printing can be much smaller than you think, so choose your words, font, and color wisely. Short and sweet is best. Clear type is best. Hope that helps.

Is there any software template included? If not, what is the best way to print?

I don't think there's a template included. There's an insert with every package of Avery labels that may have that information on it, but I always throw it out. However! It's easy as pie to go to www.avery.com/templates and download a template to use. I've done that many times and keep them all in a folder on my desktop. Hope this helps.

Are these glossy or matte? I need to pick a round 2.5" label to pair with it.

These are mostly matte. There's a bit of sheen to it because of the type of paper so the color stays put in wet situations. But not to the point of glossy, in my opinion.
