Review: Pleased to have found this online as my local supermarkets no longer stock it. It's a pleasant midrange flavour that works equally well as a stock or soup base. My son is vegan so it gets used a lot when he's around, but pretty regularly whenever I cook anything Asian biased. My current (non vegan) fave is as a soup base with egg noodles and veg, topped with pan fried salmon and a generous shake of furikake seasoning (a Japanese spice blend with citrus and samphire). Nom!
Review: This is the first time I've tried Miso, it's milder than I thought, not too salty at all. It almost adds a beefy taste to soups. I've bought this to make my own hoisin type dip, since most hoisin sauce has msg and colourings ... read a recipe where you mix this with some 5 spice and water and blend. Makes a great dip. Good quality and will last a long time. Needs refrigeration once opened.
