It has come out fine from full-on rain and partial plunge into a stream, so I'd imagine it'll be OK when you're paddling. **Q: Hi guys. how robust is it? could i wear it mountain biking? could i wear it snorkeling? what's the diameter? thank you very much** A: It's fairly robust, the strap is uncomfortable as it's a cheap velcro one but it does the job. I don't use it for precise nav, only for "which way is North" kind of nav. It reliably points north as you would expect from a SUUNTO product. I had to get used to the numbers being the wrong way round as I am used to using baseplate compasses but this makes the sighting feature handy, although not super accurate. It doesn’t feel amazingly robust, especially the wrist strap brackets. Perfect for a quick orientation but I would not want to rely on it as my only compass in the wild.
