I want to hide the main control panel and disable sound on it to prevent any intruder from disconnecting the phoneline** A: These keypads dp not beep unfortunately. They have no indication that I've seen to show the status of the system. **Q: Does it sound for the delayed exit/entry when getting in or out? IE: In case the main panel is too far to hear the beeps.** A: The keypad is silent. IT DOES NOT BEEP - EVER However, your external bellbox AND the master control panel both indicate with beeps. **Q: Is this compatible with Smartthings?** A: Yes but via custom device handlers. I have the keypad connected to smartthings. I can arm and disarm my alarm via smartthings. **Q: Does this need mains or does it run from batteries alone?** A: The EF-KP (remote key pad) operates on batteries alone, but in conjunction with the master alarm unit which is mains powered with permanently charging back up batteries for if the mains were to fail. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easily Programmed *by A***R on 3 October 2024* Took very little programming to link the key pad to the alarm hub. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Workes well *by A***R on 26 April 2025* Good replacement key pad ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well if you can change the default pin code. *by A***R on 17 September 2017* I bought this for the EF Telecommunicating Kit and it works well. As noted by other reviewers the instructions are terrible, so when you first set it up you will probably find that you can set the alarm ok, but you won't be able to unset it with the keypad. This is because the keypad pin has a factory default pin of 0000. The control centre doesn't pass it's pin to the keypad so treat the pin here as a completely separate device. So you will need to change the pin on the keypad itself... I found these instructions on a forum which worked for me:1 Press the ‘A’ key followed by factory defaultkeypad code ‘0000’.2 The LED will now flash slowly indicating it is in test(programming) mode.3 Press the ‘A’ key followed by the ‘7’ key to set thekeypad into PIN code mode.4 Press the ‘B’ key and enter new four digit keypadcode followed by the Arm key.5 Quit test mode by pressing the disarm key twice.The keypad code and mode setting has beencompleted.• The keypad code is not used by the system, onlythe keypad itself.
