Sometimes he would get a little frustrated and need help so it was good to have 1 parent in not driving to help occasionally but it entertained our 18 month old for hours! We got it because our 18 month old loves unbuckling his high chair which is similar and that entertains him for a while after dinner. **Q: How deep is the zipper pocket? Is it like a "purse" or just a shallow slot?** A: More like a purse but not that deep, it's just a little pocket I would say fist sized if I had to guess **Q: Does surface washable mean spot-clean only?** A: I'm not sure, but we tossed the lion in the wash machine with a load of towels and he came out perfectly clean with no issues. We also put it in the dryer on medium heat for 20min and then hung it up to finish drying. It arrived quickly&my 21month old has not put it down! It is one of the only toys she will sit still and happily play with for ages! It keeps her quiet ;) She loves doing all the buckles&particularly likes some of the harder shaped/release buckles as its providing her with a challenge. It's a good size and As a early years teacher I love the fact the objects on the side have the number in numeral form&in number name written form too! My little girl loves pointing to each one as I count. Its bright, soft, very colurful&durable! Ive recomended it to some childminder friends of mine. He loves it. He’s three and a bit now and still loves it. Worried at first that the clips could easily trap her skin or fingers but she manoeuvres around it with fixated concentration. The toy is lovely and soft and a good size for the price and can use any of the clips to fasten to their pushchair buckles so it's not being dropped on the floor all the time. Some of the clips can be fastened to other colours which varies it a bit for them.
