great price...great lamp
Smaller than I thought, but works for my needs... lens is sharp and the light is bright

A little smaller than I thought, but actually turned out to be a better fit
This is installed on our painting desk to assist with painting 28-32mm miniatures for zombicide and warhammer. With that in mind, it was going to be a secondary and using he USB hopefully portable. That being said, its actually much better for our use than the larger light we had installed before. Our power strip has a usb plug, but this also powered off the macbook with no issue. Its really neat and isn't as big an obstacle to painting. Switches between color temperatures and brightness. A neat tool.

Prompt Shipping But...
Item was shipped promptly and the magnification is perfect, but there are a issues. The lens has two scratches about 3/8" long, just off center. See Photo. Oddly enough I specifically ordered a unit with a glass lens to avoid scratches. But the bigger issue is overheating. The white light is nice and bright. But when set to it's brightest setting, the power cord and the controller module start to heat up immediately. While it never gets hot to the touch it should never get as warm as it does. I have checked the unit with several power sources, all with the same result. As the cord heats up on both sides of the controller, it appears that the current draw is just too high for that gauge wire. Should be up a gauge or two. I WOULD NOT go off and leave the unit unattended with the light on the higher settings. The articulating arm is about what you would expect for something at this price-point. It flexes and care needs to be taken when adjusting it so as not to bend the components. I needed this for a trade show and don't have time for an exchange unit from China so I will have to make due and keep the light off as much as possible.

Extremely fragile support, broke on the first day. Fortunately I was able to purchase another support at Home Center.....What's cheap often comes out expensive.

Highly recommended , very good lighting and magnification . the swivel arm is not that heavy duty but in general its is a good product and good value
