Fresh & Save Modern Handheld Food Saver Vacuum Sealer Machine Pump

This is the coolest little machine I've added to my kitchen in a long time. I went with this one, partly because of the reputation of their knives. I have a food sealer for sous vide, and it's big, bulky and sometimes doesn't seal. Not so with this. It's easy to use and very handy. So I've started using this to sous vide, as well. I bought a bunch of bags at the same time I bought the sealer. They are proprietary to the sealer, and I understand that other bags won't work with this brand and vice versa. I found this to be a good quality machine. And good quality bags. Using it is very intuitive and in no time at all. Charging it was fairly quick. Using it is as simple as placing the unit on the red seal and pushing the button. In a few seconds, all the air is sucked out of the food and the bag is securely sealed. Breaking the seal and getting the food out is easy, too. I also bought the sealer for wine bottles, and that works great as well. So far, the principle works and my leftovers are lasting a lot longer in the fridge. I'm very happy with this little guy and would highly recommend it.

I have a lot of good things to say about this handheld sealer. It's portable and I don't have to take out a large sealer machine each time. I ordered a bunch of vacuum seal bags from Syntus Vacuum Sealer Bags and it worked great. The suction is still working on the bag. I also got a hard zippered case for this to protect from scratches. I'm really surprised how much suction this could produce. I recently ordered a mason jar sealing attachment and when I attached this sealer on my mason jar with the jar attachment, it only took 5 seconds.

This is a really great product! It is our second one. Unfortunately, the first one got some water in it and in malfunction beyond the warranty.

I bought the ZWILLING Fresh & Save Modern Handheld system because I buy a lot of meat in bulk. With a family of six, it’s much easier and more cost-effective to shop this way. I’ve really enjoyed using the ZWILLING vacuum sealer, it’s made portioning and storing food so much easier. I also love that it’s a small handheld device rather than a big, bulky machine, and it definitely gets all the air out quickly. The only downside is that the bags can be tough to clean, especially since you can’t get the suction area wet. That part has been a little challenging at times. But overall, I would still recommend it to anyone in the market for a compact and effective vacuum sealing system.

As far as the bags and pump goes, they were great. But the pump died after 14 months. You can hear it try to turn on, but then the light flashes red and nothing happens.

WOW! I had misgivings about spending this much to replace the other pumps that needed replacing every year but since I *had* to have a one and the others don't seem to be available, I bit the bullet. It's a solid tool with excellent suction that gets the job done fast, even with the largest bags. It has an auto shutoff and if it doesn't shutoff it means the bag is leaking. Good to know! The build quality is so much higher than any other hand held pump that I expect it will last far more than a year. **Update 8/9/2024** I didn't quite last a year before it started to lock up but a quick call to Zwilling's courteous customer service got me a new one sent out on warranty. My old one performed at a high level right to the end. I use it multiple times a day so it was used hard. Between the quality and performance of this pump and Zwillings excellent customer service I still give this an unconditional 5 stars.

My husband had this on his wish list, and he LOVES it. Uses it all the time with the bags from the same seller. Great example of use is when we buy bangers or longaniza from specialty stores - he thaws them a little to separate them, then puts them into a baggie with space between, uses the suction to remove the air, and then freezes. When we want just two bangers or a longaniza (great for flavor in a pot of rice), it's easy to get them out, do the suction again, and pop the package back in the freezer. No wasting, everything stays good and frozen.

Love it. Doing good job and save my veggies from landfirld. Only 4 stars as one of bags is not keeping suction. But very good addition in my kitchen.
