It's hard to tell on the pictures but it's only about 3 inches wide and about 6 or so inches long. It's great quality but just a little small for me. I was planning to use it for dog food. I saved it though because I can use it for chicken feed when I get the chickens or something like that. It is a good product but just on the smaller side. This just so happened to be a few dollars and was able to be shipped with my Prime order so the price and convenience of receiving it the next day was an absolute no brainer. I was pleased with the overall value. Sure, the quality is not top notch, but it is a sturdy scoop with some weight to it. I purchased to use with dry goods (popcorn at my son's circus party) and it provided a decently sized scoop that held the popcorn well while placing into the bags. The handle was appropriately sized (not too big, and not too small) for someone like me with medium sized hands. Since I only scooped dry goods, cleaning needed not to be heavy duty, just a wipe would have done fine. Unlike some of the other customers, I washed by hand with mild soap and warm water, then dried with a towel. During this, I did not experience any of the metallic coating coming off. I suspect perhaps with the high heat, strong detergents, and powerful water spray in a dishwasher, some damage can be expected for such an inexpensive alumninum scoop. I was impressed and pleased with this scoop, especially considering I paid under $4 for it.
