I cook a lot. Usually nothing fancy but it is so helpful to check the internal temps during cooking. This is quick and seemingly accurate and has saved my from over or undercooked meals.

Adquirí este termómetro porque aparece como una de las recomendaciones de la página América Test Kitchen. Lo uso para mediciones rápidas de cortes, agua para té y dulces como caremelo o malvaviscos. Por ahora parece preciso ya que marca 212F en agua hirviendo y las mediciones toman entre tres a cinco segundos. El problema que tiene es el siguiente: para cambiar entre grados Fahrenheit o Celsius o ajustar las décimas hay que hacerlo con un par de botones estan en el compartimiento de la batería. El problema aquí es que hay que retirar la tapa con un destornillador delgado, luego retirar las baterías y de ahí ajustar un botón muy pequeño usando el destornillador. Quizás no sea un detalle grave si sólo se dedican a a usar una unidad de medida, pero es un proceso molesto y difícil de realizar ya que los botonos son muy pequeños, sin mencionar que es un proceso que otros termómetros realizan con un botónque estáa la vista y accesible. Otro detalle que tiene es que no tiene botón de encendido/apagado. Para encenderlo, basta con mover la aguja/medidor. No es algo tan grave, pero al menos yo preferiría controlar este aspecto con un botón para no desperdiciar la batería. Considerando esto, creo que es un producto que vale pena si lo encuentran en 600$ o menos. Arriba o más hay mejores productos y en ese rango las alternativas son termómetros que se descalibran al poco tiempo o que no son lo suficientemente precisos.
