Sets free the imagination
This is a great deck. What I like about decks like these (and it’s rare I get this) is that it allows your imagination to just run away. Which, for me, is what reading tarot is all about. Ditch those meanings you read in the booklets and just say what you see going on! This deck makes that more effortless, as the scenes are full of characters who have unique personalities. Each card gives you a sense of what’s going on. These cards are more humorous than scary. But that’s just down to personal preference, I don’t scare easily, in fact the creepier the better for me haha. The card stock is nice but again it’s personsl preference here they are nice and smooth and I like the more narrow taller cards, rather than the fat wider ones. The Deviant moon borderless edition shuffles really nicely. Now the court cards, every readers nemesis! As you can see from my uploaded images, each court card has a personality, which is exactly what you need in a good deck. For example. I always associate the king of pentacles/coins as being rather pompous and greedy, and he certainly comes across this way in the deviant moon deck. The Cup family are imaginative, creative and spiritual beings, so this comes across with their jolly loving expressions and weird scenes. With the court cards I either associate them as the situation, client or people in their life. But that’s how you should read EVERY card. No card had one meaning. Just say the first thing that comes into your head. That’s the way your intuition works. And I’m sure this deck will help you out there. If you turn the queen of swords and your first impressions are “wow this lady looks problematic and a like she’s always geared up for an argument/fight” then say this. Chances are your client will instantly indentify this with someone they know. That’s all I do. Happy reading with this brilliantly designed tarot deck. It’s fun, mysterious, scary for some but in an intriguing way. It just makes you want to see more.

I absolutely love these tarot cards and never thought I would use ...
I absolutely love these tarot cards and never thought I would use a tarot deck as much as I have this one. I have given some extremely accurate free readings to people (I don't charge) thanks to these cards. I guess you have to find the cards you connect with. I love these and also the Les Vampires Oracle but this is my favourite deck and nothing has beaten it since in terms of artistry, excellence and its thought provoking imagery. Some people think it's sinister and I understand everyone has different views but I don't find it scary at all. The images really help you to tap into that place where insights just pop out from. I found some people loved the readings they got but didn't want to look at the cards because they scared them. To me, the characters are artistic, fun, and oddly enough the picture of the front of the Deviant Moon pack relates eerily similar to a situation in my past and subconsciously I think this is what drew me to the deck. Perhaps the images are dark to some but to me they are relatable and I also find that the same card can mean a million different things to a million different people being read. If you find this deck scary you might be looking at it the wrong way. Every reading I have done with Deviant Moon has absolutely amazed me and I even use the deck to ask my own questions and it has always been right in the answers that it has given me. In terms of probability of drawing the exact card in the outcome position that I did in my last reading in regards to a personal question was one in 78 and I am shocked at how these cards just know what the answers are to mine and others questions. I even used them for long distance readings. To be more specific, I anonymously read some people that I knew nothing about other than a nickname and the readings were said to have 100% accuracy. These cards are something else! I love when a reading comes together and starts making sense, everything falls into place and with Deviant Moon you get the whole story of what is going on in the person being reads life from start to finish. It is truly amazing and I have this beautiful deck of cards to thank for the readings I have been able to do for myself and others. The happiness they felt afterwards was far from evil or bad and so is this deck. I feel any Tarot Deck could be evil in the wrong persons hands. If you use Tarot to help people and give the messages to them responsibly without any fear mongering and the reading ends with the person who is being read happy then that is what tarot is about for me.

Fantastic Deck!
First of all, I don't understand why another customer is saying that the Death card is missing from two decks. That's statistically impossible, and nobody creating a deck these days actually labels the card (it's simply a picture, and often referred to as "The Card Without a Name"). Death is definitely there, in all her ugly-beautiful glory. These are quite large cards that my small hands will struggle with slightly, but I actually just have really small, childlike hands and I find that with the majority of decks - so don't let that put you off! There's just the right amount of laminate so that the images are protected and the cards don't stick together, and they handle well. Card stock is good; not the worst I've ever handled. Very happy, and I suspect I shall be using these quite a lot.

Lovely Lunacy
One of the most popular modern tarot decks, and it's easy to see why. Beautiful, surreal, nightmarish artwork and lovely cardstock make this deck simply a joy to behold. If you know anything about tarot you already know about these delightful and amazing cards. And if you are yet to discover them; I envy you. Highly recommended.

It's not as dark you might fear
Steampunk. Nightmare Before Christmas. Hieronymus Bosch. Where the Wild Things Are. The clockwork visions of a disturbed Victorian 5-year-old. Deviant Moon Tarot. I've put off buying this deck for years. It was weird, it was dark, it was unsettling -- it was voted Number One Tarot Deck of All Time a few years in a row by the purple site, which annoyed me. How could it come out ahead of the Rider Waite Smith that it was clearly based on? So I thought, screw it. Who needs more darkness in their lives? But one October, I couldn't face a month of readings with the Halloween Tarot (Kipling West, US Games). And yet, I always want to use appropriately themed decks in the weeks leading up to Samhain. So I put feelers out to other tarotists for suggestions of a dark deck and Deviant Moon came enough that I bit the bullet and purchased. The borderless edition looked more appealing than the older one, so I got that. It's a weird deck. It is not the best tarot deck of all time. But it is a good one. It has a horrid beauty. I don't like the macabre -- I know a lot of occultists do, but I do not. I don't care what anyone says, this deck is macabre. But it is grimness tempered with a hefty dose of innocence. The more I look at the cards, the more it seems like the work of a twisted child -- like the tarot deck that little Wednesday Addams would dream up. As dark a vision as an innocent mind could create. All of the cards have this childlike quality, and some are downright playful: 2 of Cups: Death chats up Midnight at a party. 'Hey, baby!' 5 of Swords: The victor sticks his tongue out at the defeated. 'Neener neener!' 9 of Cups: 'Oh boy, a genie!' As I examined the cards and began to see this innocent, childlike quality of them, they also began to take on a comical aspect. So many of the images are just funny, the sort of thing that would make an odd kid, like Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice, giggle. Knight of Pentacles, King of Pentacles, The Chariot: Examples of the odd, squat characters in the deck. If you imagine them in motion, they are even more comical. I can hear the clunking and squeaking of the little wheels. It's just funny. There are also plenty of cards to embody the 'I'm so deep and dark' Goth teen attitude: 4 of Cups: 'I'm so bored. Screw this place.' 8 of Cups: 'No. Nothing you offer me is worth looking at. I'm out of here.' 3 of Swords: 'No one has ever felt pain like I feel pain!' Ha ha ha ha! So actually, in some ways, the deck is quite adolescent. But then, aren't we all? It's weird, it's dark, but it's also innocent, playful, and willing to hold up a mirror to show us when we are being emotionally immature. It's certainly a deck that feels, to me, right for the autumn of the year, in its mood and style. I like it. I probably wouldn't use it as an every day or 'go-to' deck, but it's certainly a good tarot for reading and it's a worthy addition to any collection. Recommended.

Thin card stock but amazing art!
Such a lovely deck, enjoy using this one. Has to be one of my favourites!! Art is a bit on the dark side but I love that. Great for intuitive readings. Much better than the edition with borders. Nice for shadowwork, general spreads and also good as an oracle. Definitely not for beginners. Booklets are almost always useless, this one is no exception. But this doesn't bother me.

See the light!
I don't understand why this deck is so often called dark - sick - not for beginners etc. From my point of view it's beautiful stylised art. It's intuitive to read and frees the mind. I also believe that any deck can be a deck for someone new to tarot. If you feel drawn to a deck - then it's a deck for you - and you build your own relationship with it. There are no rules :)

Beautiful, fascinating and intuitive deck - but the guide book costs A LOT extra.
This is a really special deck. I can’t describe how much I love it. I find the art very intuitive, there really is a lot to each card. Lucky really as the booklet that comes with it is extremely sparse. I shall be saving to purchase the full book so I can understand everything there is to know about each card, but it’ll be a while before I can as it’s twice the price I paid for this beautiful deck. For this reason I wish I could score it 4.5. I tried removing a star but found I just couldn’t do it, I love it too much.

Excelente calidad
Mi tarot preferido por su calidad del papel e ilustraciones, yo compré también el libro y ambos artículos son hermosos; al interpretar las tiradas resulta ser muy acertado con lo que se le está preguntando. 100% recomendado

An Intuitive, Beautiful, and Ethereal Deck
I sat on this deck for a couple months before committing the time to giving it a proper test drive. I had looked through each card the moment it arrived back in May, but I hadn't actually used it until this week. First of all, the artwork is stunning and it resonates on a very visceral level with me. Art, aesthetics, and symbolism are subjective, so your mileage may vary on this point. For me, the images are intuitive and speak to something deep inside me. I absolutely love the artwork. I have a lot of decks and have been reading tarot for over forty years now, and I have plenty of decks that just don't work for me. I do a reading or pull a card and the results are just random and kind of meh. THIS deck, though, is uncanny. And again, that may be the symbolism and the imagery speaking so loudly, but I find myself constantly drawing cards to see what comes up. As a personal deck, Deviant Moon is in the top two decks that I prefer for my own use (the other being the Medieval Scapini, which has been my go-to for almost thirty years). The booklet's interpretation of the cards is wonderfully nuanced, as well. The printing of the images is flawless. So, it's beautiful, intuitive, amazing in its personal connection (to me, again ymmv). Now for the downside: The box is utter crap, which is kind of surprising for US Games. The cardstock used to make it is exceptionally thin and the top flap ripped the first time I opened it. The box is a bit large for the cards, so the box will crush in places, which means it won't stay closed and I have picked up the box only to have the cards drop out of the bottom more than once. Do yourself a favor and replace the stock box with a bag or custom box ASAP. The cards themselves are on very thin stock, which isn't a terrible thing, as it makes for easier shuffling, but I will be curious to see if this affects the overall longevity of the deck (especially since it looks like it will be getting a lot of use). Also, the cards are a little long and if you have little hands like me, you may find them hard to handle. I have similar problems with the Scapini deck, but I think of it as a good way to stretch and exercise my fingers. Honestly, the quality of the card stock and the size of the cards are things that are easy to get used to. The box is garbage. And these are honestly the only bad things I can think of about this deck. If the imagery in the posted images appeals to you, then you will love this deck. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wow!... Just Amazing!
Wow! I have to say I am beyond happy with this purchase. This deck is beautiful, it speaks volumes to me. In case anyone is wondering, I chose the 'hardcover' option and received the Deviant Moon Borderless Edition of cards which includes the small 'leaflet'. This is my third tarot deck ever. My first was a cheap book store one with the theme of Shakespeare, I had a hard time connecting with that set of cards and eventually I fell out of tarot all together. The second was a "Easy Tarot" set which was okay ( I do have a comparison for size in the photos included which shows a "easy tarot" card and the Deviant Moon next to it) I first saw the Deviant Moon set and it captured me. I love these cards they are even better in person. If you think you might enjoy this set, do not hesitate and go for it! I highly doubt you will be unsatisfied. The package came in a proper hard cardboard box which was snug and securing the package of cards, which were wrapped up in plastic wrap, then the cardboard box, then more plastic wrap around the cards themselves. Would recommend this item! *update* It's been a week now and I'm still loving this set, worth every penny! I'm getting great readings with this deck, it's connected with me. The card stock is great as well they are holding up no problem. I thought I would include a few of my favourite cards just on imagery alone. :)
