Good cleaver at a shocking price
A Chinese cleaver is the most useful item I use when I am allowed to use the kitchen. It makes cutting, slicing, chopping easy and the broad front is good to stir things in a pan. I put the broad blade over garlic cloves, pound them with my fist to crush them and then chop them up fine. Combine them with chopped parsley and butter, use the cleaver to cut the backs of lobster tails, pounding the back of the cleaver with your palm to split it, fluff out the meat so it’ll come out easily, stick it in the oven for 25 minutes and you’re done. Voila. A gourmet meal. My cleaver of choice cost me $5 at a garage sale ten years ago. Wooden handle is cracked, blade covered with rust. I explained to my domestic goddess that the rust just meant it’s good carbon steel. She wanted a new stainless steel cleaver. She didn’t want such a rusty relic in her kitchen and was of the opinion I am trying to poison her. She thinks I am a culinary criminal. Guess who won that argument. So I looked at the selection on Amazon and bought this. Full tang is important for safety. That means the metal from the blade goes all the way through the handle so it doesn’t go flying off. Stainless steel, won’t rust, which is important to 50% of my domestic population. And price. Ten bucks. I figured any cleaver I could get for a sawbuck would be awful. But this thing is really good. Sharp and beautifully made. Domestic tranquility for the Hamilton. Buy it.

Ultra-Sharp Powerhouse—Exceptional for Tough Jobs, Requires Respect
This 7.4-inch, full-tang Meat Cleaver is a great knife and a true powerhouse in the kitchen. The 30Cr steel blade is ultra-sharp and handles heavy tasks with ease. I have fully enjoyed it, finding it effortless to cut through dense items like a pineapple or even meat bones. For the price, it delivers professional-grade chopping power. Key Safety and Usage Warning: This is not for regular use unless you are an experienced cook and know exactly what you are doing. Given its size and weight, it presents a serious safety risk. I am genuinely worried that it might fall on a leg, so extreme caution is necessary. It must be kept away from kids and stored securely. For serious cooks who need to break down large cuts of meat or dense vegetables, this cleaver is highly effective. Just remember that with great power comes the need for great responsibility—handle with care!

Practical and budget friendly
I was in the market for a meat clever for my 77 year old mother, who is very old school and enjoys taking a machete to a rack of ribs. We're latin what more can I say lol. I was drawn to this meat clever simply because of the 1. elegant flower design, i had my mother in mind. So i went ahead and made the purchase of this Meat Cleaver from TJPOP, 2. its roughly 7.4 Inches in length, which is a manageable size, 3. my clever arrived hair shaving sharp, which was definitely a surprise i really wasn't expecting it to be as sharp as it is at this price point, 4. its a full-tang but this has to be confirmed, and as a knife enthusiast, i have to touch on the 5. blade steel, which is 30Cr13 stainless steel, known for its good balance of hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, thanks to its chromium content (around 12-14%) and moderate carbon (around 0.26-0.35%). It's heat-treatable to achieve high hardness (up to 50+ HRC), making it excellent for cutlery (knives), aswel as tools, valves, springs, and industrial parts needing strength and moderate corrosion resistance, though it's less corrosion-resistant than higher-alloy grades like 304/316. Blade 6. Thickness comes in at 2.5 mm, which is very good, because 7. it has some heft to it but its not overly heavy to were you regret reaching for it when needed. My mom as i, have arthritis of the hands. So weight was definitely a factor when considering this clever. 8. Although, I would prefer a wooden handle, which i will probably make myself when the ABS handle fails or cracks, but the handle IMO is where this clever falls short, although it should be expected, thats where they skimpped on cost in order to provide a relatively 9. inexpensive clever that performs. The ABS plastic handle is ergonomically comfortable in my medium size hand, the handle is indeed hollow, i wish it was solid but once again, keep in mind what your paying for this clever. The handles on my clever appeared smudged (view pic) after wipping off with some windex, the blemish seams lighter but hasn't gone away. Mind you this isn't a deal breaker, consider it simply an esthetically displeasing annoyance because the finnish isnt 100%, but its just me, my OCD isn't getting any better the older I get lol. It really doesn't take away from the clever, it chops, cuts and slices through poultry, meat and veggies with ease. I doubt that you will be disappointed. Overall im pleasantly surprised by the value for money, the elegant flower design is a nice touch, the sharpness and how manageable this clever is to use make it very practical. The handle ergos does feel very comfortable in hand, its been my experience that a wooden handle would feel more substantial but would also increase the cost which make this a affordable, budget friendly clever. I would definitely make this purchase again. No doubts, I hope my review of this clever, from a humble handymans perspective will aid in your decision if you move forward with the purchase. I was not endorsed or paid for my review, just willing to help other conscious consumers. I gave it 4 stars because I can't attest to longevity.

It is what it is
Bought this knife right at a year ago. Went with this one because I just cook at home, didnt have a cleaver already, and didn't know if I'd really need/want to ever use one. So I didnt want to spend a whole lot of money on yet another *thing* that I will end up throwing in a drawer and forgetting about until the next time my wife tells me we are accumulating more clutter and have to start throwing stuff away. So my 0.02 on this: 1) I actually use the hell out of this thing, useful way more than I thought it would be. I've probably used it for dinner prep 2 to 3 times per week since. So if you are thinking about getting a butcher's knife for the first time, yeah you will be glad you have one. 2) The Knife itself is actually really good: AT THIS PRICE POINT. It's well balanced, and good quality. It was razor sharp out of the box, and had good weight. I'e used it frequently for a year, and have not YET had to do anything except use a steel on the edge. That said, a year in I need to re edge it. I'll probably just upgrade to a good medium quality knife that is of a significantly higher quality steel. Worth the money for me to have a Butcher knife. So if you are looking for a knife long term, for regular use? Keep looking. But if you are like me and dont know if you'd actually use one, or if you know you'd use one less frequently? It's a good deal.
