I bought the 2 pack of these locks (one for the front door and one for the back door) and I love them. They open easily and 'click' into the locked position just as easily. They feel very solid and after installing them I believe the 800lbs force resistance claimed. Cons: 1. If I absolutely had to say something bad about them, it's that because of the manual nature of the lock itself, they can only be locked or unlocked from the inside of the house. If you don't unlock one of the doors and later want to enter through that door...you can't. For example, if I forget to unlock the back door and end up out back, I can't enter the house through the back door without first going in through the front and unlocking the lock from the inside. This is a minor hassle, easily corrected once you're accustomed to the locks presence, but it's worth mentioning because the locks work so well that you will absolutely be locked out of any door you don't pre-open before going out. 2. If you place the lock low enough for a pet or child to reach, the lock could be accidentally locked by an excited pet pawing at the door or a mischievous child and once locked....it can only be unlocked from the inside. INSTALL IT HIGH ENOUGH ON THE DOOR TO PREVENT THIS! Pros: The mechanism is solid and smooth and designed in such a way that is extremely unlikely/if not impossible to be accidentally locked out while you're away. I.e. I don't see this lock closing on its own so long as you install it high enough up on the door to prevent pets or children from locking it. Overall, I'm extremely pleased by this purchase and highly recommend it.

Very good for security

We purchased this as an extra layer of protection to prevent my mother with dementia from getting outside. She could not figure out how to open. That said, it’s wise to have several layers of locks for dementia patients. Some patients are a bit more tenacious in their efforts to unlock doors. This lock provided another layer of security for us.

Very simple, strong, and easy to use. I would recommend buying screws that are a little stronger than those supplied. #8 wood screws seems a bit light to me. I went with #9 stainless steel screws to add a little extra strength. My wife feels safer with a pair of these locks installed! I recommend them!

Now if i talk about the quality the build quality is solid. The locks feel heavy-duty and well-made, not flimsy or lightweight. Once installed, they sit firmly against the door frame and don’t wiggle or shift. The metal construction gives real peace of mind, especially knowing they’re designed to withstand up to 800 lbs of force. Installation does require drilling, but it was straightforward. The package included screws, and with a drill and screwdriver, I had both locks installed in under 30 minutes. The instructions were clear enough, and everything lined up properly with my inward-swinging doors. Just make sure to measure carefully before drilling. What I like most is how easy they are to use from the inside. You simply slide the lock into place, and it adds an extra layer of reinforcement beyond the regular deadbolt. It feels much more secure than relying on the standard lock alone. At the same time, it’s simple to open quickly from the inside, which is important for safety. As a parent, this has been especially helpful. It adds extra security to prevent young kids from opening the door unexpectedly. It’s positioned higher than the typical doorknob, which makes it harder for my little ones to reach....if kids (under 3 ) lock this from inside then its really hard to open the door for this try to put this lock on some height. The fact that it comes in a 2-pack is also great value. I didn’t have to buy a second set separately, and now both key entry doors have the same level of reinforcement. Overall, this is a practical, affordable upgrade for home security. If you want an added layer of protection against unauthorized entry and don’t mind a quick drilling installation, this lock is a smart investment. It definitely gives extra peace of mind.
