can the pipe mounting bolts go through the front side instead of the back side? I see that the front side has a hex hole for fitting the nut in.

There are 8 mounting holes arranged in two squares. They are 75 x 75 mm and then a larger set at 100 x 100 mm

I see no mention on what material grabs the pole, just the metal or is there a rubber lining to each side of the clamp?
