Love this. I spent a long time looking at something to replace my old sieve for washing rice and this works. It’s perfect. I don’t get any of my basmati rice clogging the holes and I just swish everything under the cold, running, tap and find I don’t have to stick my hands in. As I use an absorbing method of cooking rice there’s nothing to drain after cooking. But if there was I’d use this for after cooking quite happily.

Does its job - the bottom holes are small enough that you can keep the fill level constant under running water, meaning that you can keep rice submerged and swirl it around with your fingers to clean it. But considering it's essentially a plastic colander it's well overpriced.

Sieve This rice washing bowl is a great purchase. I have rice regularly but often find other sieves spill a lot of rice into the sink when washing! The holes in this are perfect, allowing me to wash and sieve the rice without any spillage, and doubles very well as a general sieve for vegetables, pasta etc. The size is large enough for general use and big portions while still being lightweight and easy to carry. Good value, makes the rice making process a lot easier with less mess!

I hate washing rice. You have to use loads of water. It takes forever. The rice sticks to the bowl or accidentally pours out with the water. For this reason, I usually buy musenmai in Japan so I can throw it directly in the rice cooker. But coronavirus has torpedoed that strategy. Enter the Inomata rice rinsing bowl. This thing is like the Zojirushi of rice washing. It's made of impressive non-stick materials such that it's easy to transfer the rice straight in to the pan or rice cooker without spillage. The way the water flows in the bowl is perfectly optimised and results in clean rice after just several seconds. If you frequently enjoy Japanese rice, this is surprisingly superior to using a normal bowl or strainer.

It is good but not really great that would get 5 stars. The holes at the bottom are small and just right sometimes a few bits of small rice get caught but they just pop out, the side slots are just to big and rice gets caught. I must admit to not realizing just how much washing rice takes to run clear, so in this respect it is good and not expensive but not perfect.

Does not wash the rice very good, because my basmati rice is clogging up the drain holes, and got stuck in them.
