It is an effective way to clean colourfast household fabrics and avoid future staining with a layer of Scotchgard protector. Directions Read and carefully follow all instructions. Use only on clean & dry or new articles. Make a test on a small inconspicuous area and allow to dry for 12 hours to test for colour fastness and that the material is not affected in any way. Shake the can well. Holding upright, spraying material evenly at 20cm (8 inches) from the surface. Spray uniformly from side to side and then from top to bottom. Do not saturate. A second application in the same manner will provide increased protection. Allow to dry for 12 hours before use. Reapply after cleaning to maintain and rejuvenate repellency. Do not use on imitation leather, plastic or rubber. Use in well ventilated areas. Do not breath vapour or spray. Avoid contact with skin, wash any splashes immediately with plenty of soap and water. The sofa is gorgeous and I wanted to keep it as clean as I could (and get rid of a few marks - mainly on the arms) so I bought some of this.
