She brought it to a Christmas party, and it was a hit. She served Sangria in it, so the light at the bottom was not very bright, but it was well received and the beverage stayed cold. ...As a side note, we saw a version of these late last summer in a grill (bar and grill), and she said she wanted one. I went online to search for one, and found it at Sears. I saved the website as a "favorite" (a 'bookmark' on other systems) so it could be a gift. I looked at it a few times before the holidays, to make sure it was still available. When December came along and it was time to order, Sears marked the price up $20, I suppose for the holiday profit. I was aggravated and searched elsewhere, where I found it here on Amazon for less than Sears' original price, so manufacturing cost wasn't the issue. Sears has been in trouble for years because it gouges customers. It's a dinosaur that needs to finally become extinct. It is definitely over priced for what it is. The concept is great, the quality isn't. Mine arrived and the lighting system would not work, and putting batteries in, was somewhat a pain in the rear. As for the functionality of the unit. The ice cylinder worked great for keeping the beer cold, and the tap worked fine.
