Schaltwerk ESP X4 (8/9-Gang | Langer Käfig | 1:1)

my X3 version broke which is hardly surprising, it was plastic and cheap. this, the X4 has far more alloy parts in it, the jokey wheels are replaceble and the bearings are much smoother. Changing seems smoother. its easy to set up and well worth the few pounds extra. The X4 is a direct replacement for the X3.

This fitted easily on my old bike, screwed directly on to the frame. Setup was straight forward with a bit of adjustment and changes gear nice and smoothly

perfect replacement used on a carrera kraken which had a knackered SX5 rear derailleur. only difference is the old one had 9 speed this one has 8 speed. well made

Solidly built derailleur. Bought to replace/upgrade the very low-end SRAM derailleur originally fitted to my bike, which was now worn out and had become sloppy. This derailleur shifts cleanly (in conjunction with my SRAM SX4 shifter), and was pretty straightforward to get set up. My drivetrain feels so much smoother now, and doesn't suffer that ghastly creaky-grating noise when powering uphill! I didn't find any fitting instructions, but isn't hard to figure out. [Edit to add: a month later when preparing the box for recycling I discovered the instructions hidden behind the 'false floor' of the box!] Notes for anyone who's not done this before: - SRAM have their own "1:1" actuation-ratio system (cable moves same distance as derailleur), while Shimano uses "2:1" (cable moves half as far). This derailleur is therefore only compatible with "1:1" (SRAM) shifters. - if you previously had a different model of derailleur, you should be prepared to also fit a new final-length of gear-shift cable-outer (plus end caps) from the frame to the derailleur to get neat and functional cable-routing. - I was lucky that the required shifter-cable length was shorter than my old derailleur, so I could keep the previous cable. If you're not so lucky, you may need to fit a new cable too. - If you struggle to get the 'H' limit-adjust on the derailleur to reach the smallest cog, it may be that your derailleur-hanger has suffered some knocks in the past and needs to be bent back - Brake- and gear-cables and outer-housing tubes can be hard work to cut (and attempting to can damage other wire-cutters) - the Park Tool Cable and Housing Cutters (CN-10) makes the job really easy (cuts through these cables like a knife through butter).

Fast delivery and looks like a good derailleur but as i am a noob i didn't know the sram is not compatible with shimano gear shifters so anyone who wanna buy this be careful , it wont work with shimano

This was really easy to fit once I had Halfords remove the old derailleur from the hanger which was extremely stuck. Its the exact same as the derailleur I was replacing so no issues at all. Happy with the derailleur and gears are now shifting much better because of it.

SRAM x4 broke within 4 weeks of buying bicycle while riding a trail (Mushrif Park Bicycle Track). The spring inside it broke and was not holding chain tension. Someone told me I must have hit a rock, but I'm sure not. I could be spring failure. Finding this offline was impossible on Dubai strangely. Tried calling all the major brands, visited many cycle shots in Satwa, finally ordered this. After replacing with this, its working as it supposed to be, only completed maybe 50 kms so far on this new set. I hope it lasts. If not, might have to change the groupset. Build quality and print on it looks same as the original. The product did not come in SRAM packaging, so no comments if it is indeed original or copy, but built quality looks pretty solid comparatively.

La qualité est très bonne. De plus, on peut démonter les galets pour installer le dérailleur sans changer la chaîne. Et concernant les réglages : très faciles et précis. Mais attention : c'est un dérailleur SRAM donc pour manettes SRAM en rapport 1:1 donc si vous avez une manette shimano, ça n'ira pas avec !

El producto es básico pero en realidad es de muy buena calidad bastante recomendable

Montato su una MTB Rockrider 520 al posto dello scadentissimo e plasticoso X3. Questo X4, perfettamente compatibile, appare più robusto, non fosse altro perchè non è tutto di plastica. Per quello che costa fa il suo dovere. Poi per meno di 20 euro non si può chiedere la luna.
