I just picked this because controlled labs has been around forever and I wanted a hydration powder for during my workouts. This is not one I will purchase again. For lack of better terminology it tastes very “chemical-y”. Unless you’re after something really unique to this formula there are a lot of better tasting options out there.

I tried these electrolytes after an evening weight lifting session at the gym. (Fun fact: I run every morning and take electrolytes on my run, I've been using a caffeinated electrolyte in the morning, but I did not want to have more caffeine at 7 pm.). I had started to have a headache while at the gym, so I thought this might help (and it did.)My body is extremely sensitive to electrolyte imbalances (I'm assuming this is due to mild hypothyroidism symptoms - I have to work hard at electrolyte supplementation to avoid headaches, leg cramps, and swollen fingers the next morning). I mixed three servings into approximately 12-16 ounces of water (I routinely take 3-4 servings of electrolytes every morning, more as needed). Not everything mixed in with this electrolyte powder, but most of it did. The flavor is fine - when these arrived I had forgotten they were watermelon flavored and I assumed they were orange due to the packaging, but I was wrong.As far as electrolyte powders go, these are pretty good. They are slightly more expensive than what I normally pay for electrolyte powder, but the price seems reasonable.This has taurine added, which supposedly is an energy booster. I have no idea if it helps with that because even with massive amounts of caffeine, I never have a regular human level of energy (again, mild hypothyroidism symptoms means I'm constantly wavering between slight fatigue and major fatigue). I had three servings at 7 pm, zero problems falling asleep 3 hours later.Finally, I must mention that my body (and specifically GI tract) very poorly handles specific forms of Magnesium, which means sometimes a very bad reaction to electrolyte powders. I'm happy to say that my GI tract handled this powder very well, no disastrous outcome.I really like this electrolyte powder, and I look forward to using it on my runs (and, if I get my act together and start going to the gym to lift weights more often than once every three months, using it after my gym sessions as well).

I love Controlled Labs products but for some reason this gives me a sore throat whenever I drink. Great mix ability and flavor. Wish I didn’t have this reaction.

Not a fan... The powder smells great, almost like a fresh green apple, but is overwhelmed with metallic/mineral flavors almost immediately and lingers in your mouth for a good 20 minutes after drinking. I also had a hard time getting the powder to completely dissolve, leaving a bit of grit when drinking it.I can't really comment on the energy boost or increased endurance. It reminded me of the flavor packets used to color and flavor water.I'll stick with the typical pre-workout and BCAA powders that are flavored.
