The northern lights bring wonder and joy to all the creatures who bask under their mysterious glow in this gorgeous picture book from the creator of the holiday hit The Tree That's Meant to Be. From tiny specks of dust to gleaming rays in the dark, the northern lights travel across the Arctic, uniting every creature in a celebration over land and sea. In this wonderfully wintery picture book, Yuval Zommer imagines the northern lights' fleeting journey from space to Earth and how they weave a special magic for the animals and people living in the frozen lands below. With its heartfelt themes of kinship, curiosity, and the wonders of nature, it's a perfectly cozy story for families to read together. Nice but some basic science is off
Kids liked it, but I never got over the bit about northern lights starting as ‘specks of dust’. It’s so easy to have said ‘energized particles’. Not sure why the error by the author. My book has been corrected.

Beautiful story with beautiful illustrations
We had a heavy rain storm that came in yesterday and it feels like such poetic timing. The rain has washed away the previous year and we have awoken to a fresh start. The smell of rain is so invigorating, I just can’t help but to be filled with hope and positivity for this new year. I thought sharing Yuval Zommer’s book The Lights That Dance in the Night would be a beautiful start to this new year. A few small specks that slowly grow and glow into the sky around us. This is a wonderful story that shows the beauty of togetherness and the wonderful miracle of the northern lights. Fall in love with the lyrical storyline and the stunning illustrations that the author has shared with us time and time again. My children and I cannot get enough of his books! I wish to all who celebrate a peaceful New Year!

Amazing
The book I’d ask Santa if I were a child. The book is not Christmassy at all which makes it even more enjoyable IMO.
