The water lift of this vac is 47 inches. This is the amount of pressure the vac creates when there is no air movement. However, if you’re inquiring about airflow, this is measured by CFM and this vac is rated 177 CFM suction power.

Where oh where can I find the wet sleeve for vacuuming up water please?  Will the vac be ruined if not using a sleeve?

You can buy the CMXZVBE38773 wet foam filter through Amazon. You will need to remove the paper filter and replace it with this one for wet pickups. In general, the original paper filter can be used for small amounts of liquid pickup. For large amounts, that filter must be removed and should not ruin the vac. Remember to not leave the vac unattended during operation.

How well does this do with fine dust? I want to sand some paint and dry wall with this attached to an orbital sander.

I did a lot of drywall work years ago using a Shop Vac brand vacuum which is very similar to all shop vacs.  If you see fine drywall particles going through the vacuum, this means you're getting very fine particles into the vacuum motor itself as well.  These fine dust particles will kill any vacuum quickly.  I'm speaking from experience.  As another reviewer mentioned, the only way to a vacuum motor from drywall dust is to use a HEPA filter over the vacuums filter.  Many years ago I purchased a generic flat HEPA filter that I formed around the vacuum filter.  It was held in place with a heavy rubber band that came with it.  I ended up leaving the HEPA filter on permanently and my old Shop Vac lasted over 40 years of occasional use.  That vacuum was probably one of the first models to have the blower feature and that's why I bought it.  I also used it to blow leaves out of my hedges every spring and fall and it worked great.  I attempted to find that vacuum again but it's no longer available.  I guess it worked too well.  Now I'm looking for a new shop vac with blower and having a hard time finding one with good reviews other than this Craftsman vacuum.  I've had many Craftsman tools over the years but haven't bought anything since Sears sold the brand.  Hopefully the Craftsman brand returns to the high quality products I remember from decades ago.  
For you DIY wannabee drywallers out there, if you're using this for drywall dust here's a secret.  Put your vacuum in a different room and apply the drywall compound on very quickly in thin layers and do not look back.  Build up by layers, don't try to go from open bucket to finished wall in one try.  It doesn't happen that way.  After the drywall compound dries, go back over it with a very stiff wide putty knife.  Scrape the compound to get the rigids and small bumps off the wall.  Then put on your next thin layer of compound and let it dry.  Build up in thin layers and keep doing this quickly in thin layers without looking back. 
 Not looking back is the secret.  Keep going and don't look back.   As you do this, each layer builds up in a nice smooth way and you expand over a wider area with each pass.  Scrape the high spots and wall marbles off using a HYDE 02400 2400 Stiff Chisel Scraper, 3".  This scraper is one of the most versatile tools you can own.  If you're fixing a crack, use the corner of this scraper to dig deeper so your new joint compound can penetrate deeper.  You can even use this scraper to put on small areas of joint compound too.  Once your hole or tape is completely covered, then, and only then do you sand the wall.  You should have almost no sanding to do if you built your layers correctly.  The outcome will be better than trying to put one layer on and thinking you can go to a finished wall that fast.  It doesn't work that way.  Best of luck to you all and I hope this helps.
