There was never a shortage of water, but i did have it fed by a filthy mosquito larva, bird poop, rat poop infested cistern 24/7 (a float valve prevented overfilling) and the sweet filtered water drained into a bunch of 5 gallon containers. Never got sick. **Q: The black rubber seal, on the bottom, leaks. Is there any way to replace it?** A: Right on. If properly lubed and installed, it won't leak. UNTIL the plastic shank wears out from all the side-side pressure. Then it will slowly crack then leak like mine, then fall off during the night. Like mine. Any tip** A: Make sure the opening is derbies free. Check to see it isn't dented or out of round. you may need to take a small wrench and tighten it a little tighter. Also make sure that your washers are installed right. **Q: How do you make the water alkaline with a British berkefeld?** A: The System does not remove healthy minerals, so you will have them in the water if they are already there before the water is filtered.
