Buy Conversations with God, Book 1: An Uncommon Dialogue New Ed by Donald Walsch, Neale (ISBN: 9780340693254) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Not for the typical Bible Basher - As with most of Neale's other work, I read this book in only a couple of sittings (always the sign of a very good book for me). If you have not read any of his subsequent works then it should be noted that the question and answer style of his books can lead to readers prematurely dismissing this work out of hand. Who could possibly speak directly to God AND GET ANSWERS you may ask. This is a valid response and it is up to the reader to believe it without question, dismiss it out of hand or just read the book with an open mind. I recommend the latter to get the most out of this book. Whether this is the word of God or a prophet or a schizophrenia sufferer is not important. What matters more than anything is the thought provoking message of the words in this and all the CWG books. I first read CWG Book 1 about three years ago, which was the first book ever to blow my mind in a spiritual sense and radically alter my outlook on life. I was previously engaged on a quest to find the meaning of life due to being disillusioned with society and even more by mainstream Christian religion which seemed to be just `going through the motions' and missing the important messages of the New Testament. From being a staunch atheist for all my life, based on my beliefs that if God actually existed then he/she would have to be a cruel, capricious, jealous and vengeful entity, I could see no place for God in my life. My search was therefore directed towards the sciences and my research in cosmology gave me the knowledge of the infinite scale and wonder of the universe, plus my reading on quantum physics was telling me that reality is not what we perceive it to be. I was starting to think of other alternatives, such as a creator of our reality. A new way of thinking about God and life is given in this book which can answer the questions non-believers have been asking, such as why is there so much suffering in the World if a God has designed it? Order this book and find an answer which will try to explain why the things are the way they are. It really does start to come together when you consider the words carefully. This book found me at the right time and seemed `heaven sent' in my search for spiritual knowledge and I value it as a true gift. People who want to believe in Hell and punishment in the here-after, please do not buy this book. You will be very disappointed to read that God does not need to forgive and loves us all, no matter what, because we are all part of God, and this can be no other way. Review: A life-changing book - This book came to me at just the right time, and it has spoken deeply to me. Reading it has given me some astonishing insights, much joy, and a lot of laughter. It has engendered an enormous sense of freedom, purpose and above all, love. I am still digesting it and will continue to do so for a long time. I will give myself some time to ponder before I go on to the next books, and at the same time I can't wait to dive into the next books. Reading this will radically reshape your thinking about life, God, purpose and yourself. And/or it will reawaken in you a sense of knowing what is true and how life in all its beauty works. It will also awaken in you a sense of both responsibility and freedom in how life works. For me it has brought together and crystallised various strands of 'knowing' into an awesome, deceptively simple yet at the same time highly complex whole. It has set me free to engage creatively with life in an energising and amazingly joyful way. For me this book has arrived on a pathway, or in a progression, of other reading that helped me be ready for it, I think. Otherwise I may have dismissed it or found it frightening or threatening in the way it would challenge my existing views. Books such as Life after Life, The Power of Now, Jesus Calling, and The Shack helped to prepare me for it. I highly recommend this book for those seeking answers to the fundamental questions of life, who can approach the dialogue with an open mind, and are prepared to examine their pre-conceptions and embrace the power of choice. Reading this, and listening to the endearing and funny voice of God that emerges, has reinforced to me that God is absolutely real, is way beyond our most complex conceptions of Him/Her, is always with us, and loves us unconditionally with a steadfast eternal and amazingly FUN love that will never leave us. Because ultimately we are one. How amazing and awe-inspiring it all is. Thank God it is so!

This book has changed my life
I have read this book first time last year when I was going through some kind of a personal crisis. It is interesting how this book jumped to my attention few times before I actually picked it up and started to read it. Since then I have read all three books and re-read the first book at least four times. Each time it makes more and more sense to me. This book is a great help and makes so much sense. I was always looking for answers since I was a child. The things I have been told by others just did not make the sense to me. I was always thinking there must be more, more to life then just what I am being presented. "What lesson of what I need to learn if I do not remember anything? How am I suppose to put something right if I do not know what it is?" This book gave me all the answers and more. It changed my life. It is amazing to get up every day now and actually enjoy life. I would highly recommend this book to everybody. The world be so much better place if we put aside our differences and judgements and started to enjoy each other, appreciate each for who we are because as it was said - We are all One. Before I read this book I felt like I am walking in the dark trying to find the way out. I do believe that there is a better world and better life for all of us. I am very inspired by this book and I have experienced amazing change in my life and the things I have experienced since then were just fantastic. All you need is an open mind and a believe. It creates miracles. Thank you .......

interesting
I read this book many years ago and was intrigued by it. Many years later after forgetting most of it I decided to try again. Most of it is mind blowing , sometimes confusing , yet at the same time very interesting and I couldn’t put the book down for long as I was so intrigued . Do I genuinely believe god was talking to the author. Hmmmmm that’s a tough one. It’s very possible, or at least the author believed it to be . I suppose I’m still on the fence a little. Very good read though, and highly recommend trying it. If nothing else it does have you thinking…..🤔

The most amazing dialogue you may ever read!
This book is quite simply the most amazing dialogue that you may ever read. It is remarkable in many ways, not least because the beauty and simplicity of the language makes complex concepts easy to understand and digest. Concepts which are timeless in their application. Conversations with God highlights some of the most profound truths which we have all been asking ourselves as we move through our own unique experience of life. Indeed, this book presents us with a powerful platform for change but, as God repeatedly says to Neale Donald Walsch, it is an opportunity, not an obligation. Some or many of the concepts may seem radical, if only because they oppose the status quo of the world at large. Yet, if we do not embrace a new way of seeing our world, and each other, we may not have much of world left within a very short space of time. The book touches on our greatest gift from our Creator, the All-That-Is, All-That-Is-Not. This is the freedom to choose our experiences and define Who We Really Are. How to define ourselves in relation to everything and everyone else. The dialogue reveals the function and purpose of human relationships and how we can use them to serve us in experiencing a life filled with love, peace and harmony, rather than conflict and unhappiness. The entire Conversation With God series is truly remarkable and, put into practice, has the ability to help each of us re-create a grander, deeper experience of life and touch our friends, family and strangers in the process. May you be blessed as you read this message, which you have called to yourself at a Soul Level. I also highly recommend reading Gregg Braden's "The Spontaneous Healing of Belief" and Bruce Lipton's "The Biology of Belief" which blend spirituality with science to powerful effect.

conversatios with god book 1
conversations with god i bought this because im reaching out to god , and finding my religion again i'm going through a breakdown one which has turned my whole world upside down , and when you suffer a breakdown , you find that religion is a real comfort i have lots of questions such as is god a man or a woman / and are they just as ordinary people as me and you ? and if i was going through this breakdown would god let this happen to me in the first place ? I lost my first born in 1999 shortly after birth and it left me also questioning, if there was really a god would he have decide that my first born needed to be in god arms ? would god have any control over natural disasters or peoples relationships breaking apart or people being heartbroken anyway ? all these questions but still feel like there are higher powers out there like a force which i think is god and now i find myself talking to god This book is about a chap who is also writing letters to god and is finding his spiritual path he finds the answers to his letters to have been from from god a really thoughtful spiritual book ... but lovely to read , if your looking for god, buy this book it helps you to re connect with your spiritual side again

Good Insights Marred by Mysticism
The main virtue of Walsch's book is the way it leads the reader away from the common notions of 'God' as being some kind of supernatural entity 'out there' who has laid down laws for us all to follow, with threats of punishment for transgression or reward for obedience, towards a more inclusive kind of spiritual understanding that attempts to transcend the divisive sectarian beliefs of the major religions. For that reason, it will be anathema to those who are convinced that their own flavour of belief gives them the monopoly on truth. Unfortunately, however, it will also annoy those who find that Walsch's own take on the 'truth' leaves a lot to be desired, and the fact that he claims to have heard the voice of God telling him everything he has written down runs the risk that some people will follow his ideas with the same religious zealotry with which they have followed other so-called 'messengers'. It is probably true that if we looked within ourselves and 'listened' to our 'inner voice', we would come to a better understanding of what life means and how to find fulfilment. 'God' might thus be seen as a metaphor for all our highest human aspirations, and our sense of meaning might become apparent by tapping into the deepest recesses of our evolved minds. In this sense, Walsch might be right to stress that we can all 'communicate' with 'God' in the same way that he has, perhaps through using their imagination or deep contemplation. However, he goes well beyond such a concept of God when he talks about the Creation. Here he talks rather mysteriously about a God who needed to experience itself: "In the beginning, that which Is is all there was, and there was nothing else... Now All That Is knew it was all that was - but this was not enough, for it could only know its utter magnificence conceptually, not experientially. Yet the experience of itself is that for which it longed, for it wanted to know what it felt like to be so magnificent..... Still, the All of Everything chose to know itself experientially. ... In order to do this it realized it would have to use a reference point within.... And so All That Is divided itself- becoming in one glorious moment, that which is this and that which is that..and all that was neither." From this came the creation of space and time, relativity, relationships, love and fear, good and evil etc., and us, as God's spirit-children. All this could just be a complex metaphor for how we should live our lives: by interacting with the world, choosing our own future path, and so creating our own destiny. But I think Walsch believes in his creation-myth more literally. Yet his idea seems to be of a less than perfect God, (That Which Is) who is somehow 'aware' of his own 'magnificence' (whatever that means) who suddenly 'realises' that he can't experience it without creating 'That Which Is Not' and us as his spirit-children who can reflect on his creation. Rather like some vain person who 'knows' they are beautiful but insists on someone bringing him a mirror so he can admire himself. Again it gives the impression of a human-like God 'out there'. Next he tackles the problem of good and evil. To the atheist, natural events like earthquakes, plagues, droughts etc are neither good nor evil -they are just physical events that happen. If the Universe was created by God, however, then there is someone/something we can blame. In Walsch's case, it is this vain entity who decided that in order to experience its own magnificence, it would have to create a universe with all the potential for natural disasters that this one has. Yet Walsch tries unsuccessfully to exonerate God from responsibility for his Creation by suggesting that everything we experience is somehow created by us, his spirit children. Thus evil is a product of our collective conscience. For Walsch, pain, suffering, disease etc are all necessary for us (as God's children) to enable God to appreciate just how wonderful he is. As a theological apology for evil, it is as old as the hills, but it nevertheless remains quite abhorrent. It implies we should be glad there is evil in the world because without it we would not be able to fulfil our potential to love, feel compassion, do good etc. Yet the paradox is that if that is so, we should not do anything to prevent evil or else we will be thwarting God's will and doing away with the negative aspects of life that make us appreciate the positive!! In conclusion, although I think a lot of what Walsch might have to say about how we should live our lives might well be true, his attempt to explain how and why fails. His book is very good insofar as it could help break down the barriers that divide believers - his view is far more all-encompassing. He also has some very clever insights. But like any mere mortal he cannot get everything right. I hope no-one makes the mistake of thinking he is speaking some infallible divinely-inspired truth, because a voice in my head tells me he is not!
