Ultimate Dinopedia (2nd Edition) (National Geographic Kids)

Wow! First impressions are of a book much larger and more substantial than I anticipated. The illustrations are superb and the text highly informative. There are copious reference sections as well as the beautifully illustrated profiles of individual species. It’s printed on heavyweight paper so I fully expect it to withstand repeated handling and be durable. I bought this book for my godson’s second birthday. He’s a book lover already and I’m confident he’ll enjoy studying the illustrations, if little else at his age. On the other hand, I’m sure this volume will give him further encouragement in learning to read, with his parents’ support. This is the sort of book that will appeal to a young child but one he will treasure as he matures, learns to read and gains more and more from it in the course of time. I opened the book on receipt for a cursory examination but was quickly hooked and still reading it an hour later. It’s a pity there were no reference books of this scope and quality when I was young. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for dinosaur lovers of all ages. I’ll update this review when I receive feedback from my godson and his parents.

This is a lovely, good quality book, bought based on its very good reviews and it doesn't disappoint. Beautifully laid out pages, colourful and engaging, full of interesting facts and information. My son loves this book and dips in and out of it regularly, reading a page or so at a time on each featured dinosaur. I think he'll be reading it again and again as it's so informative.

Got this for my grandson, he is into everything National Geographic. He takes it to bed with him he loves it so much and we can sit together and learn about different dinosaurs and their habitats. I ticked the advanced reading level for this but my grandson is and advanced reader anyway, however I beleive most children aged 3 or over would get enjoyment from this by sitting with parents or other adults and sharing family time Fully recommend this.

Great book, just wish it was a current up to date National Geographic book. Will keep my eyes peeled for a newer version, if that happens. My son is very happy with the book and loves spending time reading it. He seems to want to double check the facts from the book to facts on the Internet. I've explained to him that the Internet might not necessarily be correct, like Wikipedia and the book might not be 100% accurate. He loves it though and is very happy.

Bought this for my seven year old grandson who is the biggest dinosaur fan and he absolutely loves it. It's a big book size-wise so not easy to sit and read on your lap but crammed full of wonderful pictures and interesting facts. An excellent buy and highly recommended for youngsters all all ages.

This is indeed a very good book and one with many interesting information on the topic. Very well-rounded. The pictures of some of the dinosaurs, though, do not appear full, which is a shame because it is difficult to imagine the rest of their body. But a very good job in general.

Kids love these books!

Dinosaur Identify! Parents were very excited as this was for their 4year old who loved the different dinosaurs. Big clear pictures with names and information on that dinosaur. Excellent book.

Our daughter has been into dinosaurs since she was a little toddler. We started with the National Geographic first big book of dinosaurs and all the first big book series and read those several times. Then we bought this encyclopedia when she is 9 and she loved it. We read this one again several times with her, this time sometimes she read me and sometimes I read her. It's very explanatory for this age. Definetly a must-have for dinosaurs lovers. Great way of learning and encourages kids to read more and learn more. Highly recommend.
