L'Oreal Excel Hicolor Highlights Red 34 g (3-Pack)

Amazing stuff!!! I will most definitely be buying again....its beautiful colour for SUMMER And when the sun hits my hair BAM its a stunning red I couldn't be happier 😊 My story... Had a bit of a bleach disaster ombreing my hair and vowed never to go near bleach again!!! So how was I going to achieve red for the summer?? I Done tons and tons of research and this product kept being mentioned, so I went ahead and purchased 👍😊 I have dark hair anyway but over the years I have dyed my hair black/blue black etc i will soon to be hitting my mid 30's and have wanted my hair red for so long, I needed to achieve my ultimate goal of having red hair WITHOUT the use of bleach!! So....I ordered 3 of these and trust me you will need them if you have dark medium length hair😊 It took me 3 days to achieve my colour Day 1 - used colour b4 brought me back to my Natural hair colour... 1 was enough for me it did pong a bit I wanted red hair so I dealt with it lol this was good stuff and left me with no dye in my hair what so ever, followed the steps religiously and left my hair dry naturally Day 2 - used 2 hair boxes of dye with 30 Volume developer I purchased the loreal developer from amazon too but get the larger size as your gunna need it. Add dye to hair from tip to about 2-3 cm away from root and leave on for about 10-15 mins then add rest of dye to root area for time specified, wrap hair in clingflim or carrier bag, (I put a winter hat on over my Clingfilmed hair, kids and hubby had a good laugh 😂) Rinse in LUKEWARM TO COLD WATER and condition, left to dry naturally Day 3 repeat day 2 BUT I didn't add any dye to my roots as they took very well 😃 My hair came out just the way I want it, i know using this again will achieve a brighter colour but for now I am very happy with the results My hair is not dry or damaged in anyway so this dye is great for me!! And best bit so cheap too!!! Just wanting to share my experience and hope it helps but I am NOT a hairdresser, i have been so disappointed leaving hairdressers over the years so for 10 years i have dyed and cut my own hair so I know what works for me everyone is different so..... I didn’t neeed to bleach my hair and I have black 4c hair

For years I have always wanted Ariel hair & no matter what hair dye I used the red wasn't as bright as what I wanted - Bare in mind that my natural hair colour is dark brunette. I finally bit the bullet back in April 2023 & bleached my hair, whilst my hair was okay with the first bleach the thought of doing it again was to much plus I didn't feel comfortable to bleachy own hair (I'm lucky I have a very good friend who did hairdressing at school but I didn't want to constantly bug her!). I Googled different brands, this was the one that many people had said it did exactly what it stated on the box so I ended up buying it & honestly have never looked back since! This perfect as you don't need to do a separate bleach dye THEN use hairdye in top - Saves you alot of time in my opinion, my hair always comes out fire truck red & I have never had a problem. 2 years later, I still buy this & normally in bulk as I only dye the roots now (every 4 months) then the rest of the hair with crazy colour fire red.

It’s the shade I wanted extreme red, perfect for me my skin tone, product is good but last max 2 weeks for me as I have white hair on the front head line.

Colour payoff was great, this was dyed onto virgin 1b hair, mixed 2 tubes with 30 vol developer and let it sit for about 30 mins. Please do a skin test to make sure you’re not allergic. The colour didn’t fade much for me even a year later, my hair did end up a bit brittle but I think that’s because I didn’t really deep condition as much as I should’ve.

This must be used with developer can't be used without. Lovely red colour but does fade quite quickly. Easy to use

This is how I used to have my hair colour. Then I found a home use kit that was a reasonable price and used that happily for quite a few years then the cost of living etc went up and the cost of the hair colour kits went up. This was when I had to do something so I went back to using the old peroxide and hair colour again. Especially the offer on this item was a something to think of. And with me having very short hair most of the DIY hair dye kits go in the bin. You can't keep it because it expands in the plastic bottle and can blow as the bottle gets thinner the more it expands and it can go with an audible pop and make a mess. At least this way my friend can use as little or more as is needed. When I was trying to find the colour I wanted at a price that wasn't just silly I spotted this one. I thought it was very cheap then after getting them I found the difference in the amount you get and then the penny dropped, these are smaller tubes. But even with that this is the only colour that was as close as the one I wear. I won't change now I've found it again I'm staying with this seller and product.

Best Red Hair dye I've ever used. It comes with a slight bleach in it. My hair is pitch black and it took me some trial and error with a LOT of products to get it right. On the parts of my hair where I experimented, they didn't dye as easily, but the virgin came out blood red, especially when mixed with a bit of red! It's good I bought 4 because the next day, I used the other two to redye some of the darker spots and make it all even. It really does look like a salon-quality! When the dye comes out, my hair looks brown or a bit coppery, but it doesn't bother me at all. Brown is nice. Red is a hard color to keep up with, so dying the hair every two months (maximum) is best. Every month minimum is good. As a touch up, using this product on the roots and another red dye probably from manic panic on the already dyed hair will help keep the hair healthy. It's not good to continually bleach one's hair. If you don't want a POWERFUL and STRONG bright magenta and red to be showing, you can use the other L'oreal Excel Hicolor red or magenta that is NOT hilights. The hilights branch come out brighter and stronger. I didn't know this from the beginning and mixed the two products, wondering why my black hair didn't turn red! Contrarily, you can also use a 20 developer with this hilights Magenta and it would come out very nicely but not as strong as with a 30 developer. Oh and as a last advice, to prevent any bleaching damage, organic/virgin cocoanut oil can be applied to the hair graciously as least an hour ahead of dying. This helps your hair to dye easier and prevents damage. My hair is actually softer than before I dyed it because I used it! I hope this review helps. :D

This has consistently been my “go-to” for a nice bright red. I naturally have a dark auburn color. I can go from that to fire engine red in less than an hour. It doesn’t fry your hair. Years ago, I also had luck using this dye with previously box dyed hair. I recommend it to everyone as I receive a lot of compliments on my hair. It lasts a LONG time if you maintain a routine of washing your hair in cool water only. I usually only have to touch up the overall color (using red manic panic) every 2 months. It’s really easy to do root touch ups with this too. I have always used it for all over color rather than highlights.
