Newer model. The noticable difference is the box. The 2017 model box is half white on the front and the 2019 model is all red. The other difference is the battery life (v1: 2.5-6.5 and v2: 4.5-9

I don’t hear any noise but I only got mine recently. If you had yours for quite some time, maybe it is dusty and needs to be dusted. I would open it and dust the fan and heat sink like a computer.
