Is it all in one kit or do I have to go buy more bits as I fit?

It really depends on the configuration of your garage. If you’ve got a solid anchor point just above the garage door, then you can attach the end of the track directly to that. Mine was recessed back to a steel beam, so I had to rig up something to bring the anchor point forward, which was messy. Then you may have to buy some metal angle to support the track especially nearer the motor. The metal strip they supply with the pack is really not fit for the job. I bought some of that perforated angle iron to rig up a substantial and rigid support.

how do you open the door if the unit fails

there is a cord / toggle ,which disengages the door from the drive belt, the door can then be opened manually only from the inside of the garage. This is reset and when the motor next operates it picks up on the drive belt. If you only have access from the garage door and no other pedestrian access I believe you can buy an external cable driven belt release , which has a lock on it. I am very pleased with this opener , so convenient and easy to fit.

Has the opener got any auxillary contacts so i could run say some mag locks off of it?

I don’t know what mag locks are . There is an option to operate by smart phones ,this is an extra which needs looking at the manufacturers web site .

I realise that it comes with a 13A plug but what power does it use? Amps or Watts?

Power is measured in Watts and current is measured in amps. The power consumption of the motor is 115 watts and the current drawn is very much within the capacity of a normal 13 amp plug.
