The book says these are easy to do but that depends on modal took me about 6 hour on a Volvo v50 1.6d because throttle body had to be removed and one bolt very difficult to get to so not as easy as thought, this alternator also does other makes fords, mazda's and other 1.6d engines so access will be different to each car. If it is the one I am thinking of it had a connecting box and a earth connector which bolted on and fitted by 3 bolts. You can always find out by your old alternator and putting reg into search panel it shpuld tell you if it is suitable to your car, I don't know what you mean by W connection or Rev Take off. **Q: Will it fit a 2006 focus st?** A: If it is this alternator it fitted a Volvo 1.6d which was a diesel engine and was competible with a Focus 1.6 d, I can't see this being suitable for a ST or a petrol car as there was 3 different types of alternator. I have been driving for 44 years and, honestly, ( I`m a sceptic.) I have never experienced a transformation like it. The second I got in the car, after the mechanic fitted it, I could not believe the difference. Uncannily, the whole car seemed to run noticeably smoother. Previous juddering, uneven idling etc. all gone, overall response of the engine, smoother pulling away and acceleration, unbelievably improved. I can only presume that the last alternator was an inferior product/quality. I am so glad , after reading reviews, that I chose this product. Based on the reviews it was down to a choice of 3, so, just for once, I seem to have been very lucky. Hence, don`t be swayed by "almost as good" reviews.
