Caran Dache Ballpoint Pen, Brut Rose, with Goliath Blue Medium Cartridge, 849.997

I'm a bit of a pen fanatic and have owned many pens over the years that I simply adore. I'm not understating things when I say this is the best pen I've ever owned. When it first arrived, it felt so lightweight and I was terrified of losing it. Now I'm used to writing with it, most other pens feel too heavy. The pen arrives in a beautiful case (which I still use to protect it from scratches in my bag) and the pen itself feels lovely - there's a slight texture to the pen when you are holding it. It feels smooth, but not shiny and satiny like a pen with a plastic covering. The colour is gorgeous and the quality of the craftsmanship is superb. I absolutely adore writing with this pen and I'm sure I will for years more.

I was looking for a particular pen to me, and I find this brand. Then I was looking in caran d'Ache website and the prices are better here :) So, good price, good size, light in the hand, blue ink (obviously you can buy a black ink if you want to change latter) and beautiful design. Also, the box is pretty nice, so I preffer to use the box to save the pen :) Please, see my pictures and you can see the real pen :) Arrived quickly, good package and I can use my close "doddle amazon" for this purchase.

I bought this as a gift for my other half as he writes a lot. He has commented on it since saying it's the best pen he's used, it writes smoothly and its quite light to carry round. The packaging is lovely and I originally thought this rose gold colour might be a bit girly for a male but it's a lovely colour for both genders and looks beautiful when presented as a gift because it comes in a slim rose gold case. I'm planning on buying one for myself soon!

Love the style of this pen and the colour but the finish is slightly rough and unappealing to the touch. Ive kept it as it matches the planner so well, but not my favourite. I think tje cheaper enamel versions feel nicer, or go to the better engineered rhodium plated version the ecridor.

Bought this pen in March 2021 and decided after 6 months of use to write a review. The quality of this pen is so great. It looks beautiful and it has a classic design. I use this pen daily and i have yet to replace the ink ! Which is amazing. I get lots of compliments at work for my pen and I find it’s really easy to clean. It also has a beautiful metal case which I store my pen in daily at work. Hands down, the best pen I have bought. You will not regret it!!!

Mrs piglet mentioned “ Schneider's excellently smooth 'Slider' 755 XB refill that uses its ViscoGlide ink” do not use it - it hardly fits - plus ink feels like some cheap ink that’s about to come out itself. I bought ballpoint & bought above mentioned 755 XB refill too, nothing silky at all. It’s extra large pointer with cheap loose ink. So I decided to put original CaranDache ink cartridge back in. I am just writing as review of “ Mrs Piglet “ was quite influential n led me to spend £8 on stupid unnecessary 755 ZBxb refill. Over 849 Ballpoint is great and amazing. Beautiful. I bought leather sleeve for it .

And this Brut Rose Caran d'Ache writes divinely more smoothly since I swapped its Goliath ballpoint for Schneider's excellently smooth 'Slider' 755 XB refill that uses its ViscoGlide ink: Which writes as smoooooth as silk! Although Caran d'Ache's Goliath ballpoint writes very well and is extra-large, it's nothing on the Schneider refill. I know this nifty swap gives me the ultimate writing experience for very good money! I found this Caran d'Ache Brut Rose pen here for about £29.00 - a bargain anyway as its gold molded case was included to present the pen so beautifully, but its glorious rose colour attracts attention, making me a proud owner of this handsome Swiss made pen. The Goliath refill won't be wasted, however; I'll simply use it for a different pen. Except my writing experience cannot bettered when this ballpoint not only looks amazing, but its secret 'weapon' is that Schneider 755 XB ballpoint nestling within. At work it's a target for the light-fingered, so beware.

the caran dache 849 pens have always been my favourite pen, they fir great and snug in the hand, they feel so smooth to write with. great value pens. i keep buying more due to have in multiple colours as i find them just so good to use and the price is great too!

Très joli modèle Caran d’Ache livré dans un bel étui métallique. Le crayon n’est pas très grand et ne prend donc que peu de place dans le sac à main. Facile à prendre en main et agréable à utiliser, écrit très bien, je suis ravie de ce bel objet utile (acheté deux fois dont une pour offrir)

Ottimo prodotto, del giusto peso e con una scorrevolezza della punta di tutto rispetto. La confezione è arrivata in condizioni perfette e la scatola in metallo è comoda anche per trasportarla quotidianamente in borsa senza rischiare di graffiare la penna, la forma piatta è ideale. Una buona penna che si può utilizzare quotidianamente senza timori di smarrirla (visto il costo contenuto) e con piena soddisfazione, cosa che magari con penne da 100 € non accade. Posseggo anche un'altra penna di marca, decisamente più costosa, ma questa non ha nulla da invidiare in quanto a scorrevolezza e piacere nella scrittura. Pienamente soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
