Eclipse Professional Tools EWWQR9 9" Quick Release Woodworking Vice, Blue

This Eclipse quick release woodworking vice is extremely well made out of very thick and heavy cast iron, it comes well packaged with light oil for rust prevention. Everything operates smoothly as it should and it has good jaw alignment, it is also excellent value for money and with proper care and maintenance it should last a lifetime. Due to its weight it might be useful to have a bit of help installing, but I did manage it on my own with the help of a few clamps. Highly recommended.

this is my first vice, used on a nicholson style 8 x 4 foot beast of a bench, and it's been great, it's extremely heavy and once you make some jaws for it with hardwood, you can't go wrong, the only thing I changed was to make a wooden dog to replace the metal one, and re oiled it with white lithium grease, the quick release worked well from the moment I started using it. I bought this one in the end because it was cheaper than buying a second hand vintage record vice and just as good quality.

Rock solid, well made, high quality

The vice works very well, heavy to fit on your own, but quality is good. I use it for my woodworking exploits. I recommend it for all your clamping needs.

Engineered like the high quality vise of years gone by, no thin cheap materials here. Solid construction, clever design. Will last several lifetimes.

After struggling with a less than good vice it was a real treat to get this one. It has made my woodworking life much easier and given more accuracy to what I do.

Great vice seems well made and operates smoothly. Fitting was simple enough (the only awkward part is dealing with the bulk of the item).

Very solid vice

I’ve been using this vice for just a little over a year… usage of once in two weeks. The spring of the quick release mechanism broke, making the thing useless. I tried to contact spear jackson/eclipse if replacement part is available. No reply till now.

Es muy pesada, lo que contribuye muy positivamente al peso del banco. Muy cómoda de usar, con el gatillo de liberado rápido (No es necesario estar dando vueltas al mando para abrirla o cerrarla del todo). Viene perfectamente pintada y engrasada, con un acabado muy bueno (No hay partes sin pintura, u oxidadas, o torcidas). Agarra de forma homogénea y sin problemas, aunque solo agarre con una esquina de la mordaza. La he usado cepillando madera dura (Fresno) con una garlopa de madera de 60cm, y la pieza está perfectamente sujeta, sin vibraciones ni movimientos extraños. Muy buena compra.
