Easy installation

I needed an outlet at my lamp post & this one did the job, installation was simple, make sure power is off before working on electrical wiring.

Works but needs improved
It was easy to install, but I have concerns about the longevity of it. Its all plastic and the cover feels very cheap. The spring which closes the cover seems too tight and the cover may snap as it is closed. I do not plan to use it for anything other than Christmas lights. If I was using it weekly for yard work, I'd be concerned that it wouldn't last. Time will tell. Its a shame that no one is selling curved post outlets made of metal.

I really have no training or experience to judge this, but my electrician DOES. He picked it and was impressed with its quality. He does mostly commercial work, so he only uses parts that can handle heavy use. This was his pick.

I am very happy with this outlet. I never would have thought about adding an outlet to my lamp post before I stumbled across this but it was very easy to modify my post and install. Now I have an extra outdoor outlet to power holiday lights and yard decorations since my older home only had one outdoor outlet. The only "problem" I had with it is the outlet was upside down with the ground on top (towards the hinge of the lid). That itself didn't really bother me except the wires on the inside also went out of the top, meaning if water were to ever run down inside the post it could run down the wires directly into the outlet. This was easily remedied by removing the clips and flipping the outlet over the normal way (with the ground on the bottom) and putting the clips back on.
