A Must-Have for Precision Repairs
Title: A Must-Have for Precision Repairs - iFixit Mako Precision Bit Set Rating: ★★★★★ The iFixit Mako Precision Bit Set is an absolute game-changer for anyone who loves getting their hands dirty with precise repairs. This set is a powerhouse of versatility and quality, earning a well-deserved five-star rating from me. Right from the moment I opened the sleek and compact packaging, I knew I had made the right choice. The set boasts an impressive array of 64 precision bits, covering virtually every screw type and size I've encountered so far. From tiny screws in delicate electronics to larger ones in household appliances, this set has it all. What truly sets the iFixit Mako Precision Bit Set apart is its exceptional build quality. The bits are crafted from high-quality steel, ensuring durability and longevity. They fit securely into the driver handle, with no worries about wobbling or slippage during use. Whether I'm repairing smartphones, laptops, game consoles, or even household items, this set has consistently delivered exceptional performance. The bits are magnetized, making it effortless to handle and retrieve small screws, even in hard-to-reach areas. One feature that I truly appreciate is the included flexible extension. It allows for complex and intricate repairs where the standard driver handle won't reach. This extension has often been a life-saver, especially during repairs within cramped spaces. The iFixit Mako Precision Bit Set goes beyond just providing high-quality bits. It clearly demonstrates the brand's commitment to customer satisfaction. The bits are neatly organized in a durable case, with labeled compartments for easy identification and retrieval. This level of organization makes it a joy to work with the set, eliminating any frustrations of searching for the right bit. In conclusion, the iFixit Mako Precision Bit Set is a must-have for enthusiasts, DIYers, and professionals alike. With its impressive variety of precision bits, outstanding build quality, and thoughtful organization, this set has become an indispensable companion for all my repair projects. Trust me, once you experience the convenience and reliability of this set, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Feels a quality item. Useful for most needs.
The ifixit Mako precision set has I feel the best for value out of all the precision bits from other brands I've ever had. This Mako set has I would say most needs covered, every type of bit is well made and fits the screwdriver in a neat/precise way. The hand tool these bits go in to is really well made, and makes fixing things easy as the top of it swivels smoothly in hand whilst using, the bits are precisely made and meant to be used for electronic fixes and other fiddly small jobs, these are for normal/gentle use and not for high torque or undoing strong bolts screws ect as their not for heavy duty use. Overall these are easily the best I've come across and for intended use are superb.... A real easy recommendation, if you like fixing things or at least want to have a go at try to repair something.. get this set. It has most needed bit types generally used.

I bought this because of Jayz two cents, was it worth it? Yes
So I'm not going to lie, I initially saw the ifixit range on Jayztwocents YouTube channel as part of a sponsored video and thought it was hilarious. But more importantly he did seem to rate the kit. I was building my first PC and like many wanted a good driver set. So is it any good? Yes it is not quite perfect but very good. First off the packaging is great and looks so much better than many other products with out being pretentious, I would class it as attractive industrial. I love the fact theirs no damned hanging hook. Though I'm not sure how the NdFeB magnets lid attachment method would Hold up in a tool kit. It'll do just fine in a tool draw getting nocked around with other bits and pieces. I put the box up on the wall of my room using command tabs, which makes it clean. Maybe the box could do with some slots for another convenient hanging method but I'm good with want I'm going with. The laser / press cut foam is high quality likely seems like Zotrfoam but I could be wrong, and it should hold the tools for a long time so much better than injection moulded five row holders or blow moulded plastic. The driver it's self is well made, the nurling feels right and the blue free spining head is mounted in a quality bearing better than other micro drivers I've seen / used. The magnetic attachment seems to work well with a good fit between the bits and the tool body. I can't attest to the durability of the bits them selves. They seem to have held out well so far, I think I'll order another set for work and see how they hold up in a higher use environment. For a hobbyist who wants something nice that'll last I'd say they're fine.

Only screwdriver you will ever need!
This product is very high quality and has all the bits you will ever need. It has a weight to it so you can feel the high quality from the outside alone and the magnets are strong too. Its very easy to use and its size is 17.5x10.5x3.5 centimetres.

Well worth the extra price - it is a premium price.
Pricey, but worth the cash. Thousands of bit sets on Amazon. How do you choose? Cost V perceived value? Over the years I always chose the latter - cheap and cheerful. It never worked out. I had to think very hard about buying this set - however I'm glad I did. It was hard to choose due to the price. So far - rebuilt 2 xPC's and 1 RP5 gaming handheld. I have placed hard force on the driver to open stiff screws. The bits are as new - not even marked. This is the difference with quality bits. Cheap ones malform and crack. 5*. You get what you pay for - and this is no exception. You (as I found out late in life) do NOT need hundreds of cheap bits - just the right quality ones.

Great precision kit.
64 bits so you'll find what you need. Lid works as screw storage while working so so useful. High quality bits and screwdriver

Good quality
On receiving and opening this product I was happy , my initial thoughts were that it is a quality product and manufactured to a high standard , I haven’t used the driver yet but I have no doubts about how it will perform . The case is a well made quality case that’s sturdy to last . Like others have saidabout the lid it’s probably not going to stay on in a toolbox but in a drawer or on top of a desk is fine . I have removed one star only due to the fact that the foam inside lists the different bits but is not very clear even with my glasses on and I think the symbols should be of a different colour to stand out although they are small . I do feel a little harsh but it’s my honest opinion . I will update after using but if you are after a precision set for long term and not just one use then these are good value for money and are of a far more superior quality and I am pleased with the purchase

Mac mini 2018 RAM Upgrade
I purchased this toolkit to upgrade the RAM in my 2018 Core i5 Mac mini. The unit was getting incredibly hot when updating the photo library (40,000+ images), and after OS-X Catalina update and the plethora of issues I suffered it just got worse and worse. RAM usage was showing at 5.5Gb so I thought there was plenty of RAM left for general tasks, but now the unit was 12 months old and effectively out of warranty period I decided to upgrade the RAM as I couldn't do any harm. On Apple's website it states this is a service centre only task on the latest machines, if you have any sense of logic, mechanical sympathy, and patience trust me, it's not a difficult job as there are plenty of online guides. I got my toolkit out from my old MacMini that I'd bought from iFixit and low and behold the first 6 bolts I encounter have security heads which aren't in my old kit. I found a bespoke MacMini RAM upgrade toolkit on Amazon for about £16, but it only has 3 tools in it. This comprehensive kit at £29 makes much more sense as it's got your bases covered for so much more. One day later it arrived, and I'm pleased to report it's really decent quality. So I stripped the Mac down in about 10 minutes which wasn't hard. Put the screws/bolts in a labelled box to help with reassembly, the hardest part is getting the logic board out which required a bit of a shove, but there are no more than 12 or so screws/bolts to remove to get to the RAM. Ensure when seating the RAM you push it until you hear a positive clicking sound and it will go no further. It seats at 45 degrees on the board so don't try and push it beyond this. Re-assembly wasn't hard, the hardest part was re-seating the wifi antenna cable & accompanying screw. I used the plastic Uspudger from my old Mac mini kit, but any thin plastic pry bar with a flat end would do. Ever since completing the upgrade even with minimal tasks my Mac mini has been using 7-10Gb of RAM so there is clearly RAM throttling going on when using 8Gb as it was using 5Gb for the same tasks previously. The highest use I've seen to date is 12Gb with quite a few apps open (Photo/Music/Safari/Mail). If you do a lot of video editing in 4K I strongly recommend considering 32Gb upgrade (2x16 as there are only 2 slots), or you ca choose to max out at 64Gb (32x2). Overall the upgrade has been very beneficial, but the toolkit made it an absolute breeze. The bits are solid, don't round off, and if they are anything like the old kit which I've had since 2011 it will be a great investment that I've already used on for other jobs on an Acer desktop and an Alienware Laptop. I only ended up using 3 of the attachments in the Mac mini TR6 / T5 / T10, but I strongly recommend you search for the plastic spudger kit (you can get 2 for £1.50) to go with it as it makes the electrical connectors far easier to remove.
