This is not correct I use my Mac and IPhone to mirror to this device.

Can AirPods be connected for audio

Should be able to, I ran audio through a pair of Sony xm3s on Bluetooth to watch a film

Does it have any sort of lens protection cap or system?

No there's no lens protection, I had some old padded lens bags for my slr and the large one fitted the entire projector in case I'm travelling with it, if not I expect there are hard case out by now for it

Where is the heat exhaust port on this projector? Can it be laid down on its back to project at the ceiling above without overheating?

Personally I wouldn’t lay it on its back as the speaker is at the back! Unless you have it connected to a bluetooth speaker! Also it will heat up if it’s on its back
