Ho scelto questo Seagate IronWolf Pro da 8TB (modello ST8000NTZ01) per aggiornare il mio array RAID, e le differenze rispetto alla serie standard o ai drive desktop sono evidenti sin dai primi test di stress. 🛡️ TECNOLOGIA E AFFIDABILITÀ Il punto di forza di questo disco è la tecnologia CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording). In un ambiente NAS, dove i riscritture sono frequenti, evitare i dischi SMR è fondamentale per non avere cali drastici di performance durante le ricostruzioni RAID o i backup pesanti. Sensori RV (Rotational Vibration): Essendo la versione Pro, include sensori per gestire le vibrazioni rotazionali. Nel mio case a 4 bay, questo garantisce che le vibrazioni dei dischi adiacenti non influenzino la precisione della testina, prolungando la vita del drive. Carico di lavoro: Certificato per 550 TB/anno, è un mulo da lavoro instancabile, ben oltre le necessità di un utente domestico avanzato. 🚀 PERFORMANCE REALI Velocità: I 7200 RPM e la cache da 256 MB si fanno sentire. Nei trasferimenti sequenziali ho saturato stabilmente la banda della mia rete Gigabit, mantenendo medie intorno ai 240-250 MB/s in lettura/scrittura sequenziale. Rumorosità e Calore: Nonostante i 7200 giri, il disco è sorprendentemente silenzioso durante il normale funzionamento (si sente il classico "grattare" solo durante i seek pesanti).
