Polti PAEU0094 Kalstop Anti-Scale Phials, White

We have really hard water which causes limescale and staining of clothes when they are ironed! The brand new polti steam generator we had bought started spitting out limescale after about a month so I bought these. All I can say is, they are excellent! Limescale is dissolved and clothes are fine and stain free after using in the iron Will continue to use to prolong the life of the iron and would totally recommend them!

I live in a very hard water area - even so I have not thought it necessary to buy a product like this - wrong. It has made such a difference to my Polti - works even better than before. Great a must buy.

I'm going to assume this product works as advertised. I bought it because I have a Polti iron with a boiler and I did not use this stuff before, in my hardwater area. The boiler on the iron is supposed to stay scale-free all by itself, somehow. I should have been more cynical about that. After a few months, the iron malfunctioned and I suspect it was due to limescale build up. I got the iron repaired/replaced and this time I'm using Kalstop in it. But here's the thing: these plastic vials are really meant for use in a large boiler, e.g. on a steam cleaner; the intenion being that use empty one vial for each 5 litres of water. But the tank on my automatically-filling boiler on the iron only holds about 1.5 litres of water. So how do you use these vials? The instructions tell you to mix up a 5 litre batch in advance, using one vial, and then fill up your iron from that. But really, do I really want to keep another 5-litre container around? Instead, I've resorted to just squeezing in a few drops each time I fill up the iron. I think this will work well, but then I have to keep the vial upright, because there is no way to seal it when it has been opened. I've going to avoid tearing each vial off its strip of five (as per my photo) and instead just take care to keep the box upright. So, a very awkward packaging design for such a simple product. Pippettes or even small screw-top bottles would have been a better choice. They've done it this way to convenience steam cleaner owners and to keep the price down. Oh well.

I purchased this to help to prevent lime scale in my Polti. I use it each time I use the steamer and it seems to do the job. The only thing I would say against it is the fact you only need half of the container at a time so you have to find somewhere to store half a pack, which can be a bit awkward when it is open.

J'utilise ces fioles Kalstop avec mon nettoyeur vapeur Eco Pro 3.0 depuis un moment, et c'est franchement l'accessoire indispensable si on habite dans une région où l'eau est très calcaire. Au lieu d'attendre que la chaudière s'entartre et de devoir faire de gros détartrages agressifs après coup, il suffit de vider une fiole directement dans le réservoir à chaque remplissage (ou un remplissage sur deux selon la dureté de l'eau). Le produit est d'origine naturelle, donc aucune mauvaise odeur chimique quand la vapeur sort, ce qui est un gros plus pendant les sessions de ménage. Ce qui est bien : Protection continue : Ça évite la formation de tartre dans la chaudière inox et prolonge nettement la durée de vie de l'appareil. Débit de vapeur constant : Pas de buse qui se bouche ou de baisse de pression au fil des mois. Format pratique : Les petites fioles de 5ml sont bien dosées, prêtes à l'emploi et très faciles à verser. Ce qu'il faut garder en tête : Ça reste un coût récurrent à ajouter à l'utilisation du nettoyeur. C'est un traitement préventif : si votre chaudière est déjà complètement bloquée par le calcaire, il faudra procéder à un détartrage complet avant de commencer à l'utiliser régulièrement. En résumé, même si c'est un petit budget en plus, c'est un investissement rentable pour éviter de flinguer la chaudière de votre appareil. Une boîte de 20 fioles durent assez longtemps si on gère bien son rythme de nettoyage.
