Top quality and protection
I’ve been a loyal OtterBox user for years, outfitting every iPhone and iPad I’ve owned with their Defender series cases. They’ve always delivered top-tier rugged protection, and I’ve been completely satisfied with the build quality and — most importantly — their outstanding customer support. I bought this Defender case for my iPad 10th generation about three years ago, and it has held up incredibly well through daily use, drops, and travel. The multi-layer design (hard shell + outer slipcover + port covers) has kept my iPad scratch-free and safe, and the overall protection is still as reliable as day one. The only issue I’ve encountered is with the built-in tilt-adjusting stand mechanism. After three years of regular use (adjusting it frequently for viewing and typing), two of the little plastic nubs that help lock the stand into position finally broke off. It was disappointing, as the stand no longer holds securely in certain angles. That said, OtterBox’s customer service stepped up as they always do. I submitted a warranty claim, and they promptly replaced the entire case at no cost for the product itself — I only paid $12.99 for shipping. No hassle, quick turnaround, and they honored their commitment even after three years. Overall, this is still one of the best rugged cases you can get for the iPad 10th gen. The minor stand wear is something I’ve seen mentioned in a few other reviews over time, but the protection and peace of mind (plus their willingness to replace it) make it well worth it. Highly recommend for anyone who needs serious drop and dirt protection — just be aware the stand components may eventually need that warranty love after heavy, long-term use. Would buy again? Yes — and I’d happily go through the warranty process if needed.

Protected an iPad run over by multiple cars!
I put a slightly older version of this on my son’s iPad a couple years ago along with a decent glass screen protector. (I knew my son would probably be rough with the iPad.) Then a couple weeks ago, a family member accidentally set my son’s iPad down on top of his car, forgot it was there, and drove away. By the time he realized his mistake, the iPad had fallen off and had been directly run over by multiple cars. We assumed the iPad would be toast. But to my great surprise, the only thing broken was the screen protector and the front cover part of the Otterbox case (which had only minimal crack damage). The actual iPad was completely fine - no damage at all, and it works perfectly! Needless to say, I bought a new Otterbox Defender iPad case to replace the old one. That was pretty much the ultimate test of its strength, and it passed with flying colors. Buy this case - it’s awesome and crazy strong!

Great case
Very sturdy case. Big fan of Otterbox for my Iphones. The stand is a bit flimsy and I could see it being easier to break. But, fingers crossed my 8 year old doesn't break it. The outer shell/stand can fit on the back or the front for screen protection. It's a tight fit and harder to get off

Strong, protective case, but the kickstand is not useful
This case is an Otterbox Defender, complete with all the familiar pro and cons you’ve come to expect from the Defender series. Pros: the teal is a nice color, not too light to stain easily like many of the brands I’ve been looking at, fits iPad A16 2025 well, the material is slightly grippy and helps with traction when leaning the device or holding it (this is the biggest reason I keep buying the phone cases!), the ridge around the screen and the rear camera is the highest of any case I’ve tried so far, which will provide great protection from scratches on uneven surfaces, all buttons and cutouts work, including the Touch ID, the weight is less than 1lb without the kickstand and less than many of the other cases I tried, materials are sturdy and high quality, frame feels just as strong as the ones that have protected my phone from many drops, falls, and accidental flinging across the parking lot while being much slimmer than other “rugged” case brands, is covered by the amazing OtterBox Warranty for the “lifetime of the product” which is listed as 7 years. I’ve received multiple replacement phone cases utilizing this warranty and customer service has always been amazing to work with! Cons: this is an Otterbox Defender. Some of the features I love for my phone case make it less than optimal for an iPad case. The kickstand piece that comes separately is heavy, cumbersome, unstable, and very tricky to position, with no comfortable position for on-screen typing and I couldn’t get the portrait orientation to stay—I can’t see myself ever using it, without the kickstand, there is no Apple Pencil storage or lid to cover the screen, which is probably my biggest complaint with this style of case, it’s a bit tricky to install the case, this is definitely something you put on and leave, there is an additional cutout on the screen adjacent to the volume keys that doesn’t match any features on my device, so that’s annoying. The other important thing to know is that this case comes with a built-in plastic screen protector like the old Defender phone cases did. It doesn’t lay exactly flush to the screen, so with every tap and swipe, you’re pushing the plastic down to meet the glass. It adds a significant amount of glare, impedes the sharpness of the Retina display a bit, and makes the iPad significantly less responsive. I’ve managed to type this review using the on-screen keyboard, but I have to press a little with each tap, unlike using just the glass. It gets very smudgy very fast, doesn’t clean as easily as a glass screen protector, and it’s tricky to do anything involving a lot of swiping. Past experience tells me you’ll want a glass screen protector underneath to protect against scratches as it’s very difficult to get and keep the plastic free of dust and debris. I remember back in the old days, people used to remove the plastic screen protector from the phone cases and use a glass protector instead, but there’s always the risk that may damage the case or impact the warranty coverage. I’ve tried 5 cases so far, and this is the top contender, but I’ll probably remove the plastic screen protector and purchase a separate iPad stand with multiple angles instead of using the one that’s included. I have a magnetic folio option coming soon that I hope to like better for daily use, but I absolutely have confidence that this case will protect an iPad from lots of wear and tear!

Protection
This does protect my iPad, very well. It got knocked to the floor, and there was no damage (thankfully). It was pretty easy to install, just follow the directions. I do have a hard time putting the stand, back to the flat position, and I find unplugging to be difficult, too. I usually unplug from the wall, instead.

This is a big case. but it is pointlessly over complicated and cheap materials used. The description on Amazon only points towards it being a case but it is actually as case + screen protector, but the screen protector is fixed to the case, not the iPad, so it bulges and would trap dust between the screen and protector, so this is really a poor design that is exaggerated by very poor materials. From the iPad's perspective it might not provide the best protection when it comes to dust or debris getting between the iPad and the case: as mentioned the screen protector bulges away from the screen and the interface between the iPad and the case is hard plastic (except hor the rear of the iPad where some membrane is present).

Great case, kickstand can be awkward to fold away but once you’ve got the hang of it it’s very handy. I’ve relied on Otterbox to keep my devices safe for years and I love them!

Das Produkt hält, was es verspricht. Für ein neues iPad die beste Lösung bei häufiger Nutzung an ungewöhnlichen Orten.

After having a number of tablets and iPads end up with broken screens I bought this to protect my new IPad. It was quite expensive and I would prefer to use my iPad without a cover, however this has protected my iPad now for nearly two years. It has been dropped and knocked but the Otterbox has kept it in pristine condition - no cracked screen and no everyday signs of wear and tear. So I would definitely recommend it. It does add weight but it is strong and quite easy on the eye.

Très bonne protection générale. Le film de protection altère quand même trop le toucher.
