Review: Great quality great price - wow Guys, these are incredibly to play and the price is amazing
Review: Love these strings - I bought these on a whim whilst auditioning some different strings. Spent out on some Thomastik Infeld Spectrums, a range of DRs, the new D’Addario coated doodahs and some others. I’m not a big user of signature products as they’re usually just a rebadged cash cow version of stock strings, but Tommy E is a picker I respect and I appreciate that he gets great tone from a simple setup. I use AER amps also, and figured that adding strings to my rig that jive so well with TE’s setup had to be worth a try. I put them on my Gibson Advanced Jumbo Flame Deluxe (a maple slope shoulder dreadnought) and was instantly impressed. Sweet, ringing brightness and quick response, good balance and silky overtones that are present but never overbearing. That was last September. I played a couple of gigs with the guitar in between Covid shutdowns, and then spent a couple of months in hospital in October and November. I picked the guitar up when I got home from hospital and to my delight the strings were still sounding great. Eventually changed them in April this year! Feel wise, these are marginally more flexible than standard Martins, but don’t expect them to be noodles…they still have some fight and bite, but are a little more pliable. I love ‘em…will put them on more of my guitars from now on.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a full set of 6 strings in each pack and long enough for full size guitar?**
A: See the product information, this will answer your query: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Martin-M170-Acoustic-Guitar-Strings/dp/B0002CZST4/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t

**Q: are they nylons or steels?**
A: Hi there. They are steel core with a bronze wound cover on 3rd (g) to 6th string, I think, if they follow same pattern as the light ones I buy (red packet), or just possibly 4th (d) to 6th string. A wound 3rd is preferable for fine tuning but not so good for bending. Martin strings are an excellent product, especially at the price quoted. PWN

**Q: What's the difference between cutom light, extra light, light and medium? I'm not sure which one to choose...**
A: Strings are also measured in gauges so 10 11 12or 13 so extra light is 10 custom light is 11 light is 12 and medium is 13 ... But if your a beginner or not playin long I would suggest 11 or custom light .. Should be easier on the fingers regards Cadno

**Q: i use middle strings they hurt my fingers and i muting the strings , how would i improve it , getting extra light strings?**
A: Hi I have used normal strings and yes they do hurt, now I use light strings or extra light strings and I love them, they are easer on the finger and they sound good to, the ones I like are Elixir Acoustic light 012-053 nanoweb ultra thin coating with anti-rust plane steels. not cheap but good and they last along time, hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ They are ok
*by I***N on 8 June 2019*

I have never been a fan of Martin strings. I often thought the guitar manufacturer others look up to would give their name to the ultimate strings but most Martin strings are very middle of the road although to be fair, reasonably priced. These flexible core ones were recommended by a luthier friend so I thought I’d try them. The 12-53 ones are actually rather good and as I type have outlasted any other Martin strings I have bought. They seem good value. Not the best strings in the world but fit for purpose. They bend well too. Not bad.
