This is such a fantastic product. With pancake day coming up i thought I'd buy this as it would be easy to use, and it is. I've made so many pancakes the last few days and with little ease. I use a cooking oil spray, spread the pancake mix ontop wait a few minutes, flip the pancake over and do the same on the other side. It truly is non stick. When im finished I wait for it to cool down and wipe it with a damp sponge and that's it. The only thing I did not like is it comes with a wooden spatula and it splinters and bits of wood came off it, so ive thrown it away and I use my own spatula instead.

***UPDATE*** two years later and still going strong, use weekly still too! Firstly, I very rarely write reviews. Secondly, HOW AND WHY have I reached nearly 40 years old and only just now bought a pancake plate thing?!?!?! Its amazing i love it. So, I am a mum of three and always cook pancakes (the traditional crepe style or scotch type pancakes, one of the two) as my children love them for breakfast at the weekends. I normally cook my pancakes in a frying pan. Scotch pancakes are very easy no mater where i cook them but crepe type pancakes always give me jip in certain frying pans and seem to take ages and I cant get the heat right and use too much oil. Well, NOT ANYMORE! This is totally game changing. I only looked into a pancake maker because I make them so often (almost everyday) and my electric hob is extremely expensive to work now thanks to the energy price hike so bought this maker just to avoid using the hob. I will never look back, the pancakes are much faster to cook, much easier, the batter spreader is just pure genius, i love everything about it. VERY fast to heat up (unlike the hob/frying pan combo). I use fry light too by the way. Easy to clean (i just wipe the top, never scrub be careful to preserve the non stick coating). I cant recommend this product enough. Have only had a few days so will update if anything goes drastically wrong or it doesnt stand the test of time but right now im in love with a pancake maker. :) ***update… there is a lovely little recipe section in the instruction manual. Because of this I have now made flat bread for the first time. Kids loved it. We also made chapatis to go with our curry and WOW!!!! this is one of my most fave purchases for a long time x

I only use this for pancakes, but it is used a few times a month in my house. Makes it so much easier than in a frying pan as I’m not a very good pancake maker massive hit with my kids too.

This item is good at what it does but after a few weeks, it stopped working. It seems as though the thermostat had given up. This was quickly resolved by Amazon who replaced the item. The problem is now that the replacement unit has done the same thing and it won’t heat up. We’ve not had the replacement that long but due to the length of time from the original purchase, there isn’t the option in Amazon to return it again so I’m not really happy about that. Even though it’s a good device, I have to unfortunately only give it one star as we’ve had two now that have broken down in the same manner so I can only assume that this is an inherent fault. I am now left with an item that doesn’t work and there doesn’t appear to be anything that I can do about it. I wouldn’t buy this unit again but would buy a similar item as it’s a good concept. When it works, the temperature is perfect for pancakes and crepes.

Received my pancake crepe omelette maker quite quickly, well packaged and all in order. After unpacking a checking easy to understand instructions, my children wanted to test it out so we made a large batch of pancake mix and started to heat up the plate as indicated gave the pan a light spray of oil and waited for the red light to go out indicating the correct temperature to cook, we made different styles and sizes from full 12 inch to 2 inch mini’s we loved them, the whole plate heated and could see that it cooked evenly :) it’s our new favourite gadget at a very reasonable price and well justified for all your pancakes crepes flat breads and yet to try omelettes :) I’m considering a second purchase to give as a present :) Easy to use worth every penny, easy to maintain and keep clean :) only factor to keep in mind is that it’s best to use on a tray or tile as the base reflects a lot of heat :) great gadget.

I was looking for a small electric frying pan and this is just perfect, perfect fried eggs, perfect French toast, perfect popcorn. Will try omelette, bacon, and pancakes next. The pan is just the right size for 1–2 people. It heats up incredibly quickly, and cooks very evenly, when I've reached a certain point in the cooking process I simply turn it off, and it continues to cook gently till food is ready. The pan is light and very simple to clean. I am very happy with this product.
