Door on front is metal, not polycarbonate as I read in the description at the time of ordering - bonus. Though an unknown brand was easily installed to serve garage without any problems. Sure the breakers may be cheap, but as they're standard DIN rail ones these would be easily replaced with your preferred fancier brand should one fail in the future. Comes with a comprehensive sheet of stickers for labelling the wires, circuits, and various warning stickers to suit regulations, plus blanking covers in case you wish to remove any of the RCDs. A very good package. I think at the price it's a bargain. Review: Ease of installation. - I have found this an excellent device and good value for money. The hand book was a bit difficult to read but in fairness this is not the sort of job for a complete novice. So here it is- re bs 7671: 421.1.201 Within domestic (household) premises, consumer units and similar switchgear assemblies shall comply with BS EN 61439-3 and shall: have their enclosure manufactured from non-combustible material, or be enclosed in a cabinet or enclosure constructed of non-combustible material and complying with Regulation 132.12. So there, please stop talking nonsense, on their own ALL plastic cu are non compliant to bs 7671 (Chinese regs are irellivant), UNLESS you place them in a 'non combustible' case after installation, a box within a box. **Q: I never got a wiring diagram, where can I get one please?** A: Without wishing to seem overly flippant you might want to consider putting the screwdrivers away and having a cup of tea instead. Electricity kills people, often due to fires caused by badly installed equipment and cabling. Add to this the preponderance of fake and sub-standard equipment entering the UK supply chain and it has never been more important to make sure that you use a competent tradesman who is a member of one of the recognised trade bodies (NICEIC, ECA etc).Seriously, don't mess about with electricity, it will kill you. **Q: How to wire** A: I wired mine and it would be difficult to explain without diagrams etc. I suggest you research it on U Tube I've looked it up and it is very comprehensive. I have installed the unit in my 'man cave' and I now have lighting and power at my disposal. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good, with some niggles *by G***F on 11 May 2014* Wanted a portable output, with RCD and fuse protection, for a 5kW generator. Mounted it with 13A 3pin sockets in a wooden carrier,to protect it, keep it all together and keep the cable tidy. Generally very please with it and it looks reasonably well made, for what it cost. Also found it was possible to add one further MCB, to have three outlets, in my case for 10A. Tried a Crabtree MCB, which fitted, but had a spade connector, so wasn't any use, so have now ordered a "Pro Elec MCB Single Pole 10A AUB1". The hinge pins for the front cover and not that robust, but are quite well protected, so it is difficult to appreciate why they were broken for some users, unless they had a heavy impact. The main niggle is with the knockouts, which don't knockout and have to be cut out. What is worse is that if you use these, then at the top and bottom the neutral and earth terminal bar mountings get in the way of any gland nuts for the inlet and outlet cables. It is much better to just ignore these knockouts and cut you own holes, nearer the back, with a hole saw. That way it is then possible to fit nuts onto the cable glands.
