Lee Mack - The Live Collection

Starting a DVD review with an 'in joke' from the DVD - Risky to say the least! I've not seen Lee Mack live before but a friend recommend him to me as I enjoy stand up comedy. How glad I am! A proper funny stand-up who doesn't rely on shouting or swearing for laughs. Rarely do I manage to convince SWMBO (She Who Must Bo Obeyed) to sit down with me to watch Stand-up DVD's and even rarer was that she remained watching it! I laughed all the way through this DVD and the jokes aren't ones I've heard elsewhere (a crime committed by a number of standups who are either too lazy or lacking in talent to write jokes). He does some good audience participation (not always their choice!) and it is quite energetic performance on Lee's part. At the end of it you'll be jumping on-line to find out when he is next touring in your area! Pick this DVD up and add it to your collection of great stand-up performances. A perfect DVD for someone who likes good comics, great jokes and a proper laugh.

i got this dvd for christmas , and was not sure i would like it , as i saw lees performance on live at the apollo and it did not impress me too much mainly due to his very very fast delivery which never allowed me to appreciate the lines before he was on another subject , but it turned out to be one of my most favourite presents .if you like stand up and dont mind very fast delivery , then you will like it , i was impressed and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good stand up , how he remembers all this for his shows is beyond me and i guess there is a lot there which was ad - libbed for that night and quite impromptu which impressed me as well , he is extremely quick witted which for me is a must for any great british comedian . also on the dvd are some other sketches which lee was in from the t.v. show which he was on , unfortunately i cannot remember the name now but i thought they were very funny as well especially the irish jockey and sign language sketch ,all in all i would definately recommend this dvd , especially if you need a good laugh , well worth the money .

This is a real laugh out loud hour and a half of your life, the material is fresh and really varied and he manages to really involve the audience as well as firing jokes constructs clever gags and circular humour in with it. If you're unsure that it's your type of comedy I can only say give it a go there will be something in there that will reduce you tears, snot and a stitch from laughing! Worth it for the parody of Australian TV ads alone but think Dave Gorman meets Lee Evans, clever, quick and loves a bit of colourful language.

'Lee Mack - Live' is typical Lee Mack - not as rough or punishing as Frankie Boyle, nor as sleek as Jimmy Carr but incredibly funny in his own way. It has many of his really famous sketches, including the driving instructor, French perfume adverts, etc. so it is definitely something that will have you laughing for pretty much the whole duration. On top there are some fun extras, including radio interviews with music celebrities, which must have been much more fun for Lee than them. The only reason why I did not give the DVD 5 stars, which the content on its own richly deserves, is the fact that all of it has been repeated so often before. You have probably seen all the jokes on one of the many 'Live at the Apollo' reruns on Dave or somewhere else, so it is more of a collection of stuff you know and love, rather than material you are unlikely to have seen before. Nevertheless, a hillarious addition to any comedy fans' DVD collection.

This has got to be one of the funniest stand ups I have ever had the fortune of seeing.Lee is hilarious I know this is his old dvd but I still thought it was full of fun and actual belly laughs, you do not get that in many stand up shows.Ok he does swear but I do not find that offensive if you do then stand up like this is not for you.Although if you find that the context of swearing is acceptable you will be able to sit back and have a thoroughly good time with tears in your eyes.I can not recommend this highly enough to people who enjoy observational comedy and one liners from what I can describe and a truly funny man.

Didn't quite hit the spot for me though Lee is a pretty good stand up comedian. Prefer him in Would I Lie To You.

Every once in a while, I find a comedy DVD that has me laughing so hard that I have to pause every five minutes to catch my breath. Enter "Lee Mack Live". If you're new to Lee's comedy, this is a very good place to start. It's brilliant. Just brilliant. I HIGHLY reccomend it. Just don't attempt to consume any kind of fluid for the duration of it. And bonus; the 'extras'-bit has Sketch show-clips (my alltime favorite sketch-show). And the 'Behind the scenes'-documentary "To Cartmel and back" (filmed by Lee and support act Steve Williams while on tour) is the funniest DVD-extra I've seen in my life.

Perfect

I first discovered the genius of Lee Mack by chance. Watched him making the great John Cleese laugh on Youtube . Britain blessed the world with 95% of the best comedians of all time. On my list, Lee is definitely in the top five. So naturally I needed to have this box set. Didn't regret it. All 3 shows are soooo funny. Hope there are many more shows to come.
