Works well
Works great. It attracts the ants before killing them and it's hard to just see a bunch of ants. But if I leave it alone they're all dead within 24hrs.No leaking or mess. I set them down and then vacuum up the dead ones later.

Hot Shot Peanut butter scented baits are the best I’ve ever used!
Hot Shot ant baits are my go-to for getting rid of ant invasions. The baits are so simple to use. Just break the bait house off from the set of 2 and place it or them in the line of the ants or where you believe they might be coming in to your house. I like to place them where children and pets can’t get to them because they smell like peanut butter which is what attracts the ants, but I don’t want them to be a temptation. The housing for the bait allows you to handling them without touching the bait itself which makes them much safer than using liquids.I feel safe placing them on the edges of counter tops if there are no children in the house. They can be placed further in to keep them out of reach if needed. Ants are drawn to the peanut butter and take it back to the nest and it kills the colony. If I have a heavy infestation it can take a couple of days to be fully effective but if I catch them right away I can stop an infestation from starting.During a very hot, dry period my sister had a huge infestation that was coming into her home looking for water and then food. This even though her husband was spraying ant and spider spray all around the exterior of their home. Ants are persistent when they need water. Ants were not only all over their kitchen island they were also coming up drain pipes under their home and swarming the bathroom sinks and tubs and into their laundry room. We placed bait traps behind trash cans, between the washing machine and the wall and just under the open bag of dog food. In one day the ants in the bathrooms and laundry room were gone.In the kitchen simply sprayed a bleach and water combo on the counters once a day and wiped them dry so the ant tracks hauling away the poison were eliminated in seconds with no residual. Please keep in mind that Lysol products have to sit on counter tops etc for 15 minutes to kill germs and poison ant tracks where a mix of 1/4 cup bleach to 6 cups of water kill everything on contact and leave no residue. That’s my public service bit. lolBottom Line: This is a fabulous product and you should try it. If you’re infested with ants give the traps a couple of days to work but if the ants are just starting to appear, one day should do the trick. Leave the baits in place to catch the stragglers.

Don't waste your money.
Two weeks went by and I think what they sent was ant attractant! After there was no change, I opened every poison pod that came in the box and distributed them around my kitchen. Armies of ants walked right over the top of the pods. None of them had any interest in going inside. They just kept coming. I started putting a drop of honey on the counter. When there was a pile of them sucking on that, i heated water, put a paper towel over them and killed them that way. I even opened the pods and put the little carmel-looking tab on the counter. Didn't even phase them. It's been a month now and they are still coming. I broke down and bought some Raid Ant and Roach killer. That would take care of them until the next day and a half.

Does exactly what it says it will do: gets rid of ants
We started seeing those tiny black ants in our kitchen, here and there. They would be in random places on the floor, on our counter tops, and on top of the dishwasher door. But in not in the cupboards or anywhere else. Sprayed peppermint oil/water and they would disappear for a day and be right back. Same thing with vinegar/water. These smells repel them, but they don't kill them. There was never a trail, so we couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Finally broke down and looked for an ant trap and decided on these. It says to put ONE out, but I missed that part and set them all out. Left the kitchen and came back later, and there was a trail of ants coming from under our dishwasher over to one of the bait traps. It says to leave them alone and they will take the bait back to their home and it will kill them all. It was hard to leave a trail of ants on the kitchen floor, but we did and the very next day, there were NO ants anywhere, and there haven't been any since. That was several weeks ago. Since the traps last for 6 months out of the package, I left one underneath a counter and one under the fridge, just in case. I wish we had done this sooner instead of spraying smelly liquids all over the place. This was easy, cheap, and it worked. I recommend these. You just have to be patient and let the ants come to the trap, leave them alone, and let them take the bait home. No more ants. It worked for us.
