Really happy
It fits my Nikon D810s, price is right, delivery was quick, I'm happy! This is a fantastic lense for walking around shots, it covers so many situations. And I knew all of this before I bought it. I was just waiting for the trigger to spend the $$$$ for it.

Very good (but it ought to be!)
Very, very good, but large, heavy and, obviously, very expensive. Wait for deals or buy it second hand.

Really great lens
Really great lens - simply stunning results. It is large but the Vibration Reduction counters that. Top quality lens and excellent performance

Fantastic lens and a great improvement from the predecessor
I've owned two copies of the predecessor and they were okay, a bit erratic AF sometimes but they did the job and my clients were happy. But I find this lens far superior, beautiful colour rendering, edge to edge sharpness, a very accurate and extremely fast AF, pin sharp images from 24-70mm on all apertures, I've required an AF fine adjustment on my D800 of +6 to get these results. It is not cheap but I completely feel that all the improvements are worth the price. I am a professional photographer and want to offer my clients the best image quality available and this lens definitely hits the spot.

Big, expensive, great results
It's big-ish, it's heavy-ish, it's definitely expensive, but this latest VR version of this Nikon lens is very good when you can't take with you a bunch of prime lenses to change your shot in an instant. If you're used to walking around with heavy lenses, this lens won't feel that heavy - the weight doesn't bother me. Focusing is very rapid, accurate, and silent. Lenses are the very few areas that really do live up to "you get what you pay for".

Must have gotten a bad one... very bad pics
Hunting, lazy and poor auto focus. Tried different settings and different light scenarios, a lot of pictures were a miss. Even in high shutter speeds focus was crap and it seems like not working properly. Noisy and lid does not stay closed. Arranged a return, will review after I hopefully a good one...

Would have been a 5 rating but...
Excellent piece of kit but at the current price, we should expect nothing less. I have had no problems at with the lens except at 24mm there is a great deal of distortion. I have set the lens to my camera, a D610, in Lightroom but buildings and structures still lean to an unacceptable level. I have used Lightroom adjustment to attempt to rectify but you lose quite a section when cropped and as yet I still see distortion at the edges... maybe someone could advice me on this matter? I have since read that if you shoot at 28mm distortion reduces dramatically but I bought it as a 24mm not a 28mm. This is the only reason I did not give a rating of 5. Another surprise was how heavy it is. It very fast to focus and sharp. The colours and contrast are beautiful.

If you want to move from amateur photography to professional on then this is the first Holi Trinity lens you should buy. This is all purpose, travel lens which not only has constant aperture but also sharpness even in low light conditions. It is indeed fastest autofocus lens I have seen. It's vibration reduction is very effective. Please note it is but heavy..

I own both this one, the Tamron 24-70 VR, and the old Nikon 24-70mm NON-VR, and this is the best, but the Tamron is not too far behind. Physical handling wise, this feels better on the hand, because it is longer and slimmer than the Tamron and is so more balanced. Although both take 82mm filter, it seems for some reason the Nikon feel slimmer on the hand. Picture quality wise, I tried taking pictures with both my Tamron and this Nikon, and the difference was negligible. Of course my review is very non-scientific, but I do like the VR very much. I took a picture at 1/2 second of a piece of paper without VR, and of course, it was very blurry. I took the same picture with VR on, and it was almost perfectly readable. I took a second picture ,and it was 100% readable. Overall, the VR was very good! I would say at least 3-4 stops easily. Autofocusing is very fast......faster and more predicable than the Tamron. Overall, if you are on a budget, I would highly recommend the Tamron which also has VR and I have been using it for more than 1 year. The only problem with the Tamron is autofocus. It will focus perfectly 98% of the time, but you will miss a picture 2% of the time, whereas, with my nikon lens, autofocus is almost 100%. I am not a pro, so I don't mind the 1-2% miss rate. If you are looking to see whether you should upgrade if you have the non-VR Nikon lens, my opinion is a definite yes. Most people don't think VR will help, until they use it. Before, without my Tamron, I was very nervous using my nikon indoors without flash. There was always a chance of blur. With this new lens, I am very confident using it shutter at 1/30 or even 1/15. At speed under this, I am still able to get some very sharp images, but I would check and possibly take a second picture to be sure. In conclusion, VR is highly recommended. If you are on a budget, get the Tamron. If you are thinking whether you need to upgrade to VR, I highly recommend you do. This is a very nice, but expensive lens.

Excelentes acabados, su versatilidad hace que no quieras quitarlo de tu camara. La reducción de vibración es destacable, mejor que la de otros lentes.
