This Banana Plug has a Rubber cap as part of it's design.
I like this Banana plug as it has a rubber cap. It can be placed close to metal with little risk of shorting. I have speakers close to copper pipes and that is the reason I used this type of Banana plug. They are shorter than the normal type which allows the speakers to get closer to the wall in space limited areas. They have a very good gold finish and have finger tightening removable tops which the wire goes through. a short amount of bare wire can be secured by the Cap when it is replaced. The plugs have RED or BLACK bands on for + or - Well designed and well finished.

Good but misleading
These are great. I discovered that the binding posts on my Yamaha AV amp could take Bananas by removing the small insert. These were perfect and make a good snug fit. I also had some spring clip speaker connections I wanted to convert and used these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J3V3HKW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had to snip off a couple of segments to get a good flush fit that allows the latch to close, and these accept a banana with a good firm connection. I cut back the insulated sleeve to fit so I could keep the colour coding. What I think is misleading is the description, "Female connection on base of each plug for connecting multiple speakers from a single output" which suggests this is a piggyback stacking style of banana, which is not correct. You can either connect a speaker cable or you can insert another banana but not both.

Really very good
I bought these to stick on a new set of speakers (replacing old ones) and these are absolutely perfect. Fit in my Denon AVR-X4500 is great, solidly in the terminal. Installation is easy too (and tool free), some previous reviews show how - my wires were pre-tinned and I didn't splay them out - I hooked a bit over the internal edge and tightened them up. Gripped with no problems at all. For a reasonably inexpensive set of plugs I can do nothing but recommend them.

Jury's Out But Looking Good
Overall, these are good quality, solid plugs, especially for the price. I was a bit dubious about the fitting method and should have probably checked out how they worked before buying but everyone was happy with them, in general, so what was the worst that could happen? So, you have to 'peel' the copper cable strands back over the connector which is then clamped in place by screwing on the banana plug bit....see picture and it might then make sense! So, it seems like the connection is just held in place by gripping these thin, spread out wire strands. I don't like fraying my speaker cable - it's more natural to do the opposite and twist all the strands together. However, I didn't lose any strands in the process and to be fair, the plug does seem to be pretty solidly fastened. A big yank may separate it from the wire but it hasn't happened to me yet but to be sure, just avoid any large Americans! These are certainly quick to fit as you don't need a screwdriver and then fiddle with those tiny screws to clamp the wire in place. I guess if you have a ridiculously thick gauge, stiff wire, it might be tricky to fold it over the connector bit? Don't know. They work for me but time will tell if the method of connection is strong enough.

Great little banana plugs
Needed a temp solution while waiting for the ones I wanted. Worked well. Easy to setup.

very good value
I purchased these banana plugs for my new av set up and they are excellent value. They feel heavy and solid, it is relatively simple to connect the speaker cable and once the cable is attached they are very secure. I really don't know why anyone would spend any more as these are excellent.

Excellent
These Amazon plugs are a copy of the very popular Sewell Direct SW-29863 which are only available in the USA. I am pairing these with DCSk AWG13 99.99% copper speaker cable. To fit: Prepare your speaker cable by taking half an inch off the plastic outer, without damaging the copper strands. Gently twist the cable around to bind the copper strands together. Insert cable into bottom half of black plug. Separate the copper strands into 3-4 pieces and bend the cable back on itself around the gold tube on the banana plug. It should feel secure. Screw the top of the plug back together and you will have a very secure fit. You'll find a YouTube video by Sewell demonstrating the technique. Don't feel guilty when they tell you to avoid lookalike products! A high quality, easy to fit banana plug. Well done Amazon for identifying a top selling product on your marketplace, copying it and selling it yourself!

Not for quality installations - poor design and flimsy
When these arrived, I wasn't sure that I liked the cable fixing, and the 'banana' bit looked loose. Some of the reviews questioned the integrity of these but I persevered - after all, all those positive reviews can't be wrong can they? The cable fixing is probably ok for small cables, but I was using 4mm KableDirekt pure copper - within spec but the plugs (and I) struggled to get a reliable and strong cable grip. I made the leads up, and then inserted the banana to the socket. The fitting was very loose - they fall in and they fall out. This is because (as others have pointed out) the 'banana' fitting is really just a weak spring clip over the thin centre pin. But the final straw was when I detected a speaker was not working because the pin had become detached from the plug body (broken). I wanted some more plugs and ordered the KabelDirekt ones (from Amazon). Chalk and cheese - the banana is a proper sprung pin which was really hard to push in, and hard to remove. The cable fixing is with 2 decent grub screws. So 3 days after receiving these Amazon basics, they are consigned to the bin. With hindsight, it's probably better to use a binding post and a properly crimped y connector or eye, or use a more robust plug like those supplied by KabelDirekt.
