I am relatively new to woodturning and found the book useful: you can watch the DVD in stages and it will return to where you left off. This is good as 2 or more hours, while instructive, can be difficult to assimilate and concentrate upon, since there is just so much information. This sounds a bit critical, but the DVD is well made and give me too much rather than not enough info anytime, so, all-in-all, this is a good purchase for anyone with a woodturning lather who wants to develop good practice and expertise.
