Useful and good quality
Quality accessory. Very useful if you want to have several OSs running without partitioning a single drive. I connected the top drive and used the bottom one to store the dormant one. This means no fiddling with the bios to choose a boot drive. I simply turn the power off and remove the plug before changing out the drive (this possibly isn't strictly necessary). Super product. Very versatile for flexibility. Obviously this could be used in more than one scenario. I needed another Win 7 install to run a game that doesn't work with Win 10. I used a spare SSD drive. My system uses a boot drive with the OS etc and then a storage drive that is a conventional HDD. This works well for a multi OS system because all your docs are available regardless of which boot drive you use. I bought the 3.5 inch without having the structure for a 3.5 drive so I used an adaptor from Maplin (which I already had) to bring it up to 5.25. This took a bit of trial and error to fit. Honestly, how long has it been since PCs used floppy drives? So why make things in 3.5 inch? Having said that it was my bad for ordering the 3.5 version. The power LED is blue and activity shown in a contrasting colour. You could possibly leave the 4 pin connector undone if you didn't want that flashing (being quite bright). All cables and screws included. I used the power cable which uses a standard molex plug to convert for the Sata power and has a 4 pin branch for the LED power. I also used one of the sata cables that come with it rather than my existing sata cable. I disconnected it from the motherboard and connected it to the unit, then pushed the unit into the case and then re-connected the cable back to the motherboard. That was just to save stress on the motherboard connector but it also made it easy to connect to the unit; access to which would otherwise to quite awkward. My boot time appears to be slightly faster, so I wonder if the included cable was slightly better quality than the my existing one.

A great product
A great product and deliver exactly what is promised. Well constructed and easy to mount. The only con is the use of two power connectors (the engineers should have thought of shunting the power plug)

Good caddie
This is a great addition to the floppy 3.5 tray in PC cases that furnish them. Great for swapping SSD drives for various reasons. Makes things so convenient. A little pricey for what it is, but comes with cables and a good amount of accessories. Would be nice to have a choice of one without cables etc. I think we all have an abundance of Sata cables if we are honest. However, very good and robust.

Great for multiple Operating Systems
The best things come in small packages. These are great little devices for SSDs as well as standard 2½" HDDs. They are neat, well designed, robust and come with all the cables etc that are needed. I used the Akasa 2½"/3½" - 5¼" Mounting Adaptor which enables them to be mounted in a standard 5¼" slot.I like the individual activity LEDs which I found worked on several SSDs apart from one. Using one of these units you can change operating systems very easily if you have each mounted on a separate SSD or HDD. I like to separate my Operating System from my own data as much as possible so I use the upper unit for a 120GB SSD with the operating system and the lower one for my personal data on a 1TB standard 2½" drive. Then, after switching off, it is a simple matter to remove both drives leaving the computer completely secure. They are good units but I wouldn't pay more than about £28. The price does fluctuate so wait until they drop to about £26 if you can.

Device not recognised hmmmppfff
Caddy is well made and installed easily, but the huge issue for me is that the board and Windows 10 can not see it or any ssd inserted into it.I went through all the various settings in bios and nothing worked.Nothing wrong with my drives as connected directly to the board the bios and OS see them and can access content. The only thing the caddy is useful for me for is to keep the ssd's powered thus avoiding data loss over time.I contacted the seller a few times and got zero reply. On that basis, I can not recommended this product at all.

really good design
I have been using this for a while now and to be able to put an XP drive in and play all my older games and then swap to the win 7 latest games on another drive is a bonus. The build quality is good and feels as if it can take many extractions without problems. My omly little moan is considering it is designed for drive swapping and at least 2 of them because it is a dual bay why only 1 of the drive plastic protectors is supplied. It would have made more sense to mount the same thing in the base of each bay but that is just my opinion. Thumbs up for a clever piece of kit.

Does the job.
While virtualisation has made things easier, some times I need real hardware access which means booting from a different drive. This fits in a standard floppy disk sized drive bay and then you can insert a laptop sized disk drive when needed. It loses a star because on arrival one of the bays kept popping open with a drive inserted, but fixed it by inserted a small knife into the side gap of the bay where the door latches, and gently bent the metal back inwards.

top backup and storage solution
Needed swappable SSD solution for backup and storage SSD discs and this is it.Fits in nicely in the conversion rack (3.5 to 2.5 rack) and comes with all the needed screws and cables, even a power splitter cable.Springs on the inside take care of pushing the SSD drive pins into the connector and a latch pushes it out when you open it.Discs where seen by the BIOS straight away.Haven't tried a full hot swap but must be as easy as USB it says.Top product and good quality. My BIOS: Gateway AMDMy OS: Win 7 Pro (x64)

Easy to install and works great
It fits nicely in a floppy drive bay. Works as expected. The only thing I am wary of is the hot-swap feature. There is no off button; normally a proper off button would cause the memory cache to be committed to the drive and then the drive would spin down and turn off. This device just has the eject button which disengages the drive immediately. So if you eject the drive before all the memory cache has been committed to the drive, you run the risk of damaging files. This really needs to be tested so I'm not deducting any stars.

Works great, nice and easy to handle 2.5 SSD's
This works great mounted on the front of PC, I'm able to swap out SSD's pretty much at anytime. You might also need the Star Tech BRACKETFDBK 3.5 Inch Hard Drive to 5.25 Inch Front Bay Bracket Adapter.

Startech.
